Job summary

Russell Tobin is seeking a senior IP Services Engineer with extensive hands-on experience managing and migrating IP services platforms. The role focuses on F5, NGINX, Infoblox, DDI, scripting, and open-source technologies, with a strong emphasis on routing and switching in a large enterprise environment.

The ideal candidate will lead migrations from physical to VM-based platforms, develop automation scripts, and collaborate with Network, Security, and Infrastructure teams to deliver end-to-end

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in IP Services / Network Infrastructure.
• Proficient with F5 technologies and VM migrations.
• Expertise in NGINX, including scripting and coding.
• Experience with Infoblox, DNS/DHCP/IPAM (DDI).
• Scripting skills with Python or Bash; open-source tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise IP Services infrastructure.
• Manage and support F5 environments and platform migrations.
• Lead F5 migration from physical appliances to VM-based platforms.
• Configure and manage NGINX for web delivery, reverse proxy, and load balancing.
• Develop scripts and automation using programming languages.
• Work with open-source technologies to automate IP service operations.
• Manage Infoblox and DDI services (DNS, DHCP, IPAM).
• Troubleshoot DNS, DHCP, IPAM, and related network service issues.
• Collaborate with Network, Security, Application, and Infrastructure teams for end-to-end troubleshooting.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced IP Services Engineer with strong expertise in F5, Infoblox, NGINX, DDI, scripting, and open-source technologies. The ideal candidate should have extensive hands‑on experience in managing and migrating IP services platforms, with strong programming/scripting capabilities and a working understanding of Routing & Switching.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise IP Services infrastructure.


• Manage and support F5 environments, including load balancing, traffic management, and platform migration activities.


• Lead/support F5 migration from physical appliances to virtual/VM-based platforms.


• Configure and manage NGINX for web, application delivery, reverse proxy, and load‑balancing requirements.


• Develop and maintain scripts, automation, and code using appropriate programming/scripting languages.


• Work with open-source technologies to automate and improve IP service operations.


• Manage Infoblox platforms and enterprise DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM) services.


• Troubleshoot DNS, DHCP, IP address management, and related network service issues.


• Support integration between F5, NGINX, Infoblox, and enterprise network infrastructure.


• Work with Network, Security, Application, and Infrastructure teams for end‑to‑end troubleshooting.


• Participate in migrations, upgrades, automation initiatives, and infrastructure improvement projects.

Technical Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in IP Services / Network Infrastructure.


• Strong hands‑on expertise in F5 technologies, including migration to VM/virtual platforms.


• Strong expertise in NGINX, including programming, scripting, configuration, and coding.


• Strong experience with Infoblox and DDI services – DNS, DHCP, and IPAM.


• Strong scripting and automation skills using technologies such as Python, Bash, or similar.


• Experience with open-source technologies and automation frameworks.


• Fair/working knowledge of Routing & Switching.


• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.


• Experience working in large‑scale enterprise environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with F5 BIG‑IP and virtual editions.


• Experience with NGINX Plus / NGINX Open Source.


• Knowledge of REST APIs and infrastructure automation.


• Experience with CI/CD or DevOps practices is an advantage.


• Knowledge of DNS architecture, DHCP, IPAM, and DDI integration.


• Relevant F5, Infoblox, NGINX, or networking certifications are desirable.
