Job summary

Singtel in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a hands-on Network Engineer to support IT operations for project infrastructure. The role focuses on firewall management (Checkpoint, Fortigate) and load balancer technologies (F5, Foundry, or Radware) to ensure network performance, availability, and security aligned with SLAs.

The ideal candidate brings 3+ years on load balancers and firewalls, Cisco routing/switching experience, and certifications in Network & Security.

Qualifications

• A Degree in Computer Science / IT or equivalent.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience with hands-on load balancers and firewalls.
• Experience with Cisco routers/switches LAN/WAN is a plus.
• Exposure to Cisco Wireless and ISE or IDS/IPS is an added advantage.
• Strong technical competency with recognized professional certifications in Network & Security or Systems.
• Ability to work on 12-hour shifts or 24x7 when needed.

Responsibilities

• Support Cisco Network devices and Checkpoint/ Fortigate Firewalls, Load balancers, DNS, SDN, IPAM, Wireless, TACACS and VPN.
• Configure, test, and maintain LAN/WAN equipment and related services.
• Monitor and maintain network infrastructure for optimal performance and availability.
• Provide VPN user support and firewall cleanup as needed.
• Respond to network incidents with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Monitor performance and availability; implement actions to improve SLA adherence.
• Maintain environment with patches and security updates with security/risk teams.
• Implement and administer routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP) and network security.

We are looking for a highly skilled and hands-on Network Engineer to support the IT operational activities of Project Infrastructure, supporting the Operation Manager to achieve the agreed SLAs as defined by the respective Master Service Agreement(s).The ideal candidate will have strong practical experience in firewall management (Checkpoint, Fortigate) and load balancer technologies (F5, Foundry, or Radware), ensuring seamless network performance, availability, and security in line with our SLAs

Make An Impact By

• Support all Cisco Network devices and Checkpoint & Fortigate Firewalls, F5/Foundary/Radware load balacers, DNS, SDN, IPAM, Wireless,Tacacs and VPN
• Configures, tests, and maintains LAN/WAN equipment and related services.
• Perform regular monitoring and maintenance of the network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability
• Provide support to VPN users & old unused firewall clean up.
• Respond promptly to Network incident, root cause analysis & provide temporary and/or permanent resolution of incidents escalated
• Monitor & measure the performance & availability of systems proactively; implement corrective actions identified to improve performance & service level availability
• Responsible for environment maintenance, patches and security updates. Work with security and risk analysis team to maintain up to date environment
• Implementing and administrating network routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, BGP & network Security.
  
  

Skills For Success

• A Degree in Computer Science / IT or equivalent
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience and above with hands-on experience in handling Load Balancer (F5, etc) and Firewall is required
• Experience with Cisco routers/ switches/ LAN/ WAN or equivalent is a plus
• Exposure in Cisco Wireless and ISE or IDS/ IPS is an added advantage
• Strong technical competency with recognized professional certifications in either Network & Security or Systems domain
