Job summary

Swisslog, part of the KUKA Group, is shaping the future of intralogistics with robotic and data-driven automation. We seek a Solution Designer to own system design for automated material handling projects in Malaysia, collaborating with sales and engineering teams.

The role requires a mechanical/mechatronics/industrial engineering background, 3+ years of industrial design experience, and strong CAD and MS Office skills. Fluent English is essential, with a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Industrial Engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in industrial system design.
• Proficient in MS Office and 2D/3D CAD tools.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and review customer's requirements.
• Collect project data, if required, and analyze received data.
• Define design parameters based on data analysis.
• Develop possible solutions based on defined customer requirements / design parameters.
• Design and propose suitable sub-systems based on detailed equipment performance calculation.
• Prepare presentation (PowerPoint) and present the proposed solutions to the customer in workshop or meeting.
• To request for suppliers quotations (RFQ) for sub-systems including preparing sub-systems requirement specification, liaise with suppliers, review suppliers’ quotations, define gaps between supplier's quotation against RFQ etc.
• Analysing the sub-system of the suppliers incl. the functionalities and the according scope of supply.
• Prepare technical descriptions of proposed system for tender submission, as well as functional descriptions.
• Prepare PowerPoint presentation of the proposed system for tender interview and clarification.
• Actively support the Sales Manager, technically, during sales and tender clarification phases. He/She shall take a key role technically to convince the customer to buy the proposed system.
• Carry out detailed engineering work of the chosen system during detailed specification phase.
