Job summary

Skymech Resources in Selangor invites an engineering intern to assist technicians in servicing, inspection, testing, installation and maintenance of fire protection systems. You will gain practical, hands-on experience under the supervision of our technical team across multiple disciplines.

You will attend customer and construction sites, record inspection results and servicing details, and help identify maintenance issues while following safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a certificate, diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or Building Services.
• Willing to attend customer and construction sites.
• Responsible, punctual and able to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist technicians with servicing, inspection, testing, installation and maintenance of fire protection systems and equipment.
• Assist with fire extinguisher inspection, servicing, refilling and maintenance under supervision.
• Support work involving fire alarm systems, including installation, testing, inspection and basic troubleshooting.
• Assist with other fire protection systems such as hose reels, hydrants, sprinklers, and pumps.
• Help prepare tools, equipment and materials before site work.
• Attend customer sites and construction sites with the technical team.
• Record inspection results, servicing details and site work in reports and checklists.
• Identify visible defects or maintenance issues and report to supervisor.
• Keep tools and work areas clean and organized.
• Follow company procedures, site rules and safety requirements.

This internship involves assisting technicians with the servicing, inspection, testing, installation and maintenance of fire protection systems and equipment. You will work under the guidance and supervision of the company's technical personnel, gaining practical, hands-on experience across multiple fire protection disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Assist technicians with the servicing, inspection, testing, installation and maintenance of fire protection systems and equipment
• Assist with fire extinguisher inspection, servicing, refilling and maintenance under the supervision of experienced technicians
• Support work involving fire alarm systems, including installation, testing, inspection and basic troubleshooting
• Assist with other fire protection systems, such as hose reels, fire hydrants, sprinkler systems, fire pumps and related equipment, depending on project requirements
• Help prepare tools, equipment and materials before site work
• Attend customer sites and construction sites with the technical team
• Record inspection results, servicing details and site work in checklists, service reports and other company documents
• Help identify visible defects or maintenance issues and report them to the supervisor
• Keep tools, equipment and work areas clean and organised
• Follow company procedures, site rules and safety requirements

About you

• Currently pursuing a certificate, diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or Building Services
