Job summary

Pyrogen Manufacturing Sdn Bhd is seeking a Project Engineer to lead the installation, testing and commissioning of fire suppression systems across Malaysia and the region. You will oversee site activities from survey to handover, coordinate with clients and trades, and support product testing with the R&D team.

Fresh graduates are welcome and training is provided. Readiness to travel within Malaysia and working on-site is expected, with familiarity in door fan testing and AutoCAD as advantages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Mechatronics, Fire Protection) or related field.
• Fresh graduates welcome; on-site training provided.
• Exposure to fire protection systems or M&E projects is a plus.
• Proficiency with reading engineering drawings; AutoCAD is an advantage.

Project Engineer (Fire Suppression Systems)

We are hiring a Project Engineer to deliver installation, testing and commissioning of our fire suppression systems, mainly condensed aerosol and inert gas systems, for clients across Malaysia and the region. As we prepare for high-scale growth, you will take projects from site survey to handover, run room integrity (door fan) tests, and work with our R&D team on product fire testing for new and existing products.

Training is provided. Fresh graduates and engineers with 1-3 years of experience who have strong technical fundamentals and are comfortable working on site are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise installation by in-house technicians and subcontractors, making sure work matches approved drawings, design manuals and applicable standards (e.g., ISO, NFPA, Bomba).
• Coordinate with clients, main contractors, consultants and suppliers on schedules, site readiness and interfaces with detection, fire alarm, HVAC and electrical systems.
• Perform room integrity (door fan) tests, identify leakage paths and recommend sealing works.
• Carry out functional testing and commissioning of system components (cylinders/generators, detection, control panels, actuation, abort/manual release, interlocks).
• Support authority submissions and inspections (e.g., BOMBA) and client witness tests.
• Support preventive maintenance, servicing and troubleshooting of installed systems.
• Train client personnel on system operation and emergency procedures.
• Support product fire tests: test rig setup, instrumentation, data logging, video records, and test reports.
• Help prepare samples and configurations for certification and third-party lab tests.
• Enforce site safety and keep project records under ISO 9001/QMS control.
• Track project costs, progress and variations, and report to management.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Mechatronics, Fire Protection) or a related field.

Experience:

Fresh graduates welcome; training provided.

Any exposure to fire protection systems (gaseous/aerosol suppression, sprinklers, detection), M&E/building services projects, site supervision, or testing & commissioning is a plus.

Familiarity with door fan testing, gaseous system design software, or AutoCAD is an advantage.

Strong technical fundamentals with a hands‑on, practical approach to site work.

Able to read and prepare engineering drawings; AutoCAD proficiency preferred.

Good project coordination and communication skills with clients, contractors and internal teams.

Detail‑oriented and systematic, with good documentation and reporting discipline.

Willing to work on site, & travel within Malaysia.

Valid Class D driving licence; CIDB Green Card is an advantage (can be obtained after joining).
