TECHNICIAN INTERNSHIP - FIRE EXTINGUISHER

About the role
EXCEL FIRE ENGINEERING SDN BHD is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Technician Internship candidate specialising in fire extinguisher maintenance and servicing. This is an excellent full-time opportunity to gain practical experience in the fire safety and maintenance engineering sector. Based in Batu Caves, Selangor, you will work alongside experienced technicians to develop your technical skills in fire extinguisher inspection, testing, and maintenance whilst contributing to the company's commitment to fire safety excellence.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting in the inspection, testing, and certification of fire extinguishers according to relevant safety standards and regulations
• Supporting the maintenance and servicing of various types of fire extinguishing equipment
• Helping with the refilling and recharging of fire extinguishers
• Accompanying experienced technicians on site visits to perform equipment inspections and maintenance
• Recording inspection data and maintaining accurate service records and documentation
• Assisting in the identification of faulty or damaged equipment requiring repair or replacement
• Learning and applying proper safety protocols and procedures when handling fire safety equipment
• Supporting the preparation of equipment for dispatch to clients
• Contributing to the overall efficiency and quality of technician operations

What we're looking for

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a qualification in SPM, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
• Strong mechanical aptitude and keen interest in fire safety and engineering maintenance
• Good understanding of health and safety principles and practices
• Ability to follow technical instructions and work methodically with precision
• Excellent attention to detail when recording and documenting maintenance work
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Willingness to learn and develop technical competencies
• Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual work when required
• Reliability and punctuality
• Preferred: Previous experience or exposure to maintenance, engineering, or fire safety equipment
