Job summary

SGS (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking an intern to assist the laboratory team in dismantling Electrical & Electronic products for testing. You will prepare samples, handle receiving and documentation, and support engineers during testing in a hands-on lab environment.

The role requires reading engineering drawings, attention to detail, teamwork, and a proactive attitude. A 3-month minimum internship is expected, with on-site work in Kulai, Johor.

Qualifications

• Reading engineering drawings, product specifications, and work instructions.
• Comfortable using basic hand tools to disassemble products.
• Detail-oriented and able to follow instructions accurately.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Proactive, responsible and eager to learn in a lab environment.
• Able to commit to a minimum internship period of 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Record sample information and testing logs accurately.
• Follow lab procedures, quality requirements and safety guidelines.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Laboratory Manager or Engineering team.

Job description

Assist the laboratory team in dismantling Electrical & Electronic (E&E) products and components for testing purposes.

Perform sample preparation activities, including cutting, sorting, labeling, and organizing test samples.

Support Engineers in preparing products and components prior to Electrical Safety, Reliability, and Performance testing.

Handle sample receiving, registration, storage, and disposal in accordance with laboratory procedures.

Use basic hand tools and equipment to disassemble consumer and industrial E&E products.

Maintain good housekeeping and ensure the laboratory work area is organized and safe.

Record sample information and update testing logs accurately.

Follow laboratory procedures, quality requirements, and safety guidelines at all times.

Perform other duties assigned by the Laboratory Manager or Engineering team.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.

Able to read and understand basic engineering drawings, product specifications, and work instructions.

Comfortable working with tools and performing hands-on technical tasks.

Detail-oriented and able to follow instructions accurately.

Good teamwork and communication skills.

Proactive, responsible, and willing to learn in a laboratory environment.

Able to commit to a minimum internship period of 3 months
