Job summary

Jabil in Bayan Lepas, Penang invites a Data Services Squad Intern to work on AI, ML, CV, and data analytics initiatives across Asia. The role covers design, testing, deployment, and adoption with exposure to cross-functional teams.

You will participate in POC, testing cycles, anddocumentation while supporting solution development and user training. English and Mandarin proficiency is preferred, with opportunities to learn across both technical and project management streams.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Basic understanding of software development, cloud concepts, AI/ML, CV, and data or factory automation.
• Strong written and verbal English and Mandarin; ability to prepare clear documentation and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with regional/global teams on AI, ML, CV, AI agents, and Digital Automation initiatives.
• Support solution development, data preparation, testing and technical implementation activities.
• Assist in POC, experimentation, validation, and technology evaluation projects.
• Participate in Alpha, Beta, and UAT; document findings and improvements.
• Provide first-level user support, troubleshooting, and enhancement recommendations.
• Research emerging technologies and propose ideas to improve processes and user experience.
• Assist in gathering business requirements, user feedback, and documentation to support adoption.

Data Services Squad (DSS) Intern – Job Description
Join our South Asia (SA) Regional IT Data Services Squad (DSS) and work on impactful projects leveraging Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Data Analytics, and Digital Automation across Asia. This internship offers exposure to the complete project lifecycle, from identifying business needs and designing solutions to testing, deployment, and adoption, while partnering with technology professionals on AI and digital transformation initiatives. Students with a passion for problem-solving and technology will have the opportunity to explore roles such as Project Coordinator, Tester, Developer, and Business System Analyst while delivering practical business value.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with regional and global teams on AI, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, AI Agents, and Digital Automation initiative
• Support solution development, configuration, data preparation, testing, and technical implementation activities
• Assist in Proof-of-Concept (POC), experimentation, validation, and technology evaluation projects
• Participate in Alpha, Beta, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and help document findings and improvements.
• Provide first-level user support, troubleshooting, and enhancement recommendations
• Research emerging technologies and propose ideas to improve business processes, productivity, and user experience
• Support project coordination activities, including meeting preparation, progress tracking, documentation, and stakeholder communications
• Assist in gathering business requirements, user feedback, and documentation to support solution adoption and continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For:

• Students who are taking his/her Bachelor of above degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or any relevant field of study
• Basic understanding of software development, cloud concepts, AI/ML, Computer Vision, data or factory automation
• Good written and verbal English and Mandarin, with the ability to prepare clear documentation and presentations is a must
• Strong organization, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to learn across both project management/business and technical workstreams.

Optional Skills:

• Basic programming or scripting exposure, preferably Python, C# or another relevant language
• Familiarity with one or more of the following: AI/ML, Generative AI, AI agents, image processing, cloud platforms, or intelligent automation
• Exposure with Generative AI (GenAI), Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and AI agents
• Knowledge of RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), vector databases, semantic search, embeddings, and agentic frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, Bedrock Agents)
• Exposure with Computer Vision libraries such as OpenCV, YOLO or any other image processing library
• Knowledge of deep learning concepts, including model training, image classification, object detection, and anomaly detection use cases
• Proactive, dependable, and willing to take ownership of assigned work
• Adaptable and comfortable rotating between coordination, analysis, testing, user support, and technical assignments
• Curious about emerging technologies and motivated to apply them to real business or manufacturing challenges
• Able to collaborate with multicultural, cross-functional teams and communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
