Digile’s AI Practice is currently looking for a Junior Forward Deployed Engineer (Junior FDE) to join our Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) Pods, customer‑embedded, cross‑functional AI delivery units that turn AI capabilities into production‑grade workflows with measurable business impact. This role is an ideal transition path for Functional Consultants (FC) and business‑savvy developers with a blend of strong skillsets as requested in the section below and a strong passion for applying AI to real business problems.
The main job responsibility of the Junior FDE is to act as the workflow engineer and integrator of the pod. As a Junior FDE, you will translate business workflows into AI workflows and build the prompts, pipelines and integrations that power them, working under the technical direction of the Senior FDE (Pod Lead) and closely with the AI Product Manager, Domain SMEs and customer users. You will receive structured mentoring and hands‑on upskilling as you grow into a full FDE. You must be capable of working independently, thinking strategically and having fun along the way!
- Translating business workflows into AI‑augmented workflows, working with Domain SMEs and the AI Product Manager to map current‑state processes and identify bottlenecks.
- Building prompts, prompt orchestration, data pipelines and system integrations under the technical direction of the Senior FDE.
- Building rapid functional prototypes and iterating on them based on user feedback and real customer data.
- Supporting the build of RAG pipelines, including document ingestion, chunking, embedding and vector database setup.
- Implementing guardrails and AI safety controls as designed by the Senior FDE.
- Conducting testing, monitoring and troubleshooting of AI workflows, and supporting UAT and validation with customer users.
- Supporting production rollout and working directly with customer users to train them, gather feedback and drive adoption.
- Documenting workflows, prompts and configurations, and contributing to the weekly delivery report.
- Participating actively in pod stand‑ups, customer working sessions, bi‑weekly demos and backlog refinement.
- Willing to learn and pick up new knowledge with less supervision.
- Willing to travel and be stationed at customer sites, within and outside of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Experience
- 1‑3 years of experience as a Functional Consultant, Business Analyst, Implementation Consultant or Software Developer. However, fresh graduates in Computer Science, IT or Engineering with a strong programming foundation are welcome to apply too.
- Experience implementing enterprise systems (e.g. ERP, CRM or document management) including user requirement study, configuration, training and UAT.
- Hands‑on exposure to generative AI or LLMs through projects, hackathons or certifications will be a plus point.
- Experience working directly with business users to understand and improve operational processes.
Skills
- Working knowledge of Python or another programming language, with the drive to quickly deepen these skills.
- Understanding of prompt engineering and the capabilities and limitations of LLMs, including producing evidence‑backed outputs with clear source references.
- Working familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) / Autodesk Forma and/or CxAlloy, such as project setup, folders and permissions, forms, issues, dashboards and commissioning checklists. Experience with other common data environments or document management systems is also relevant.
- Understanding of EPC project documentation and processes, such as document control, transmittals, RFIs, submittals, NCRs, punch lists and commissioning and turnover records.
- Ability to automate recurring documents such as weekly and monthly progress reports using templates and approved project data.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON and system integration concepts.
- Good in working with SQL statements and handling data; Power BI or similar dashboarding tools will be a plus point.
- Business process mapping skills, with the ability to turn current workflows into AI‑augmented workflows with clear human review points.
- Basic familiarity with version control (Git) will be a plus point.
- Strong ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical users and to train and coach end users in a manner that is clear, concise and open.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
