We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Interior Designer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing interior concepts, preparing design plans, coordinating with relevant parties, and ensuring projects are completed according to the client’s requirements, budget, and timeline.
Requirements
- Minimum Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or a related field.
- Coursework or experience in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) is highly preferred.
- Interior Design certification is an added advantage.
- At least 1 year of relevant working experience.
- Mandarin-speaking ability is an added advantage.
- Strong sense of style and ability to create aesthetically pleasing interior spaces.
- Strong visual design skills, particularly in proportion, colour, layout, and aesthetics.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Autodesk 3ds Max.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Basic understanding of building codes and inspection requirements relating to interior design.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with clients/employers to understand their initial goals, requirements, preferences, and budget for the space.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, painters, contractors, and builders to ensure the interior design is functional and practical.
- Analyze the movement, layout, and usage patterns of the space.
- Prepare sketches, mood boards, layouts, and other visual aids to present preliminary design concepts.
- Consult with clients/employers on the selection of materials, furnishings, fixtures, colors, and décor.
- Use design software to develop and present detailed interior design plans.
- Prepare project timelines and cost estimates in accordance with project requirements.
- Source and order required materials while ensuring compliance with approved budgets and specifications.
- Coordinate and oversee the installation of furniture, materials, fixtures, and other design elements.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure the completed project meets the agreed design and quality standards.
- Address and resolve client concerns, complaints, or design-related issues promptly.
- Keep up to date with the latest interior design trends, materials, techniques, and industry developments.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by the management.
