A growing and vibrant Intellectual Property practice group is looking for a full-time IP Executive. Prior knowledge and experience in IP prosecution is a must. Legal graduates who are unable to practice and able to commit to a full-time employment, with a keen interest in pursuing a career in the intellectual property industry are encouraged to apply.
Preparing, filing, and prosecuting trademark, patent, copyright, and industrial design applications and registrations before MyIPO and corresponding foreign intellectual property offices, on behalf of local and overseas clients and associates.
Attending to all correspondence and communications with MyIPO, clients, and foreign IP counsel, including responding to office actions, examination reports, and official queries in a timely and accurate manner.
Assisting the lawyers in advising clients on trademark protection strategies, conducting trademark availability searches, and providing clear and informed recommendations based on search findings.
Liaising effectively with foreign IP counsel and overseas associates in the management and coordination of international IP filings and prosecution matters.
Managing and maintaining clients' IP portfolios, including monitoring the status of applications and registrations, and proactively updating clients on developments.
Tracking and managing critical deadlines for trademark, patent, and industrial design renewals, maintenance fees, and filing requirements, and ensuring timely action is taken to preserve clients' IP rights.
Ensuring all documents, correspondence, and filings are accurately prepared, properly recorded, and processed in an efficient and organised manner in accordance with the firm's internal procedures.
Assisting in the preparation of client billing, including understanding fee structures and billing procedures, and supporting the collection and follow-up of outstanding fees.
Undertaking any ad hoc assignments, projects, or administrative tasks as directed by the supervising lawyer or management, demonstrating flexibility and initiative as required.
Minimum Degree in any field.
Candidate with relevant experience in IP Prosecution, including trademark, patent, or industrial design matters, will be given preference.
At least 3 to 5 years of working experience in intellectual property or a related field.
Able to speak and write English and Bahasa Malaysia proficiently.
