Job summary

Zone Designworks Sdn Bhd is seeking an Inspector of Works – Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) for proposed additions and alterations to an existing 2-storey factory building. The role involves day-to-day inspection and supervision of M&E works at the project site in Selangor.

The candidate should have a Diploma/Degree in M&E/Building Services and a minimum of 7 years' relevant experience, with a strong understanding of Malaysian standards and the ability to coordinate with multiple

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years of M&E site inspection and supervision experience.
• Proven track record in building construction, industrial projects or renovations.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian standards and authority requirements.
• Ability to coordinate with architects, consultants and contractors.
• Excellent reporting and documentation skills.
• Able to communicate effectively with clients.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day inspection and supervision of M&E works at the project site
• Monitor the Contractor's M&E installation works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, approved materials and project requirements
• Inspect workmanship and materials for M&E works and identify any defects, discrepancies or non-compliance
• Ensure M&E installations are carried out in accordance with approved shop drawings, method statements and relevant standards
• Coordinate with the M&E Consultant, Architect, C&S Consultant, Contractor and other project stakeholders on site-related matters
• Monitor the progress of M&E works and report any delays, technical issues or potential problems to the project team
• Conduct regular inspections and witness testing and commissioning activities as required
• Assist in reviewing and verifying material submissions, samples, shop drawings and technical documents
• Maintain proper records of site inspections, testing, rectification works and other M&E-related activities
• Attend site meetings and coordination meetings when required

INSPECTOR OF WORKS – MECHANICAL & ELECTRICAL (M&E)

Inspector of Works – Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) for proposed additions and alterations to an existing 2-storey factory building. The role involves day-to-day inspection and supervision of M&E works at the project site in Taman Perindustrian Subang Hi-Tech, Petaling, Selangor.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day inspection and supervision of M&E works at the project site
• Monitor the Contractor's M&E installation works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, approved materials and project requirements
• Inspect workmanship and materials for M&E works and identify any defects, discrepancies or non-compliance
• Ensure M&E installations are carried out in accordance with approved shop drawings, method statements and relevant standards
• Coordinate with the M&E Consultant, Architect, C&S Consultant, Contractor and other project stakeholders on site-related matters
• Monitor the progress of M&E works and report any delays, technical issues or potential problems to the project team

About you

• Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or equivalent recognized qualification
• Minimum 7 years of relevant working experience in M&E site inspection and supervision
• Proven experience in building construction, industrial/factory projects or renovation and alteration works
• Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services installations
• Familiar with M&E drawings, specifications, shop drawings, material submissions and testing & commissioning procedures
• Good understanding of relevant Malaysian Standards, regulations and authority requirements
• Experience coordinating M&E works with architectural and C&S works
• Strong site inspection, quality control and problem-solving skills
• Able to communicate effectively with contractors, consultants and clients
• Able to work independently and maintain accurate site records and reports
