Job summary

Tropicana Corporation Berhad is seeking an Architectural Inspector of Works (IOW) to oversee daily on-site construction activities for architectural finishes, mock-ups, and installations, ensuring strict compliance with approved drawings, contract specifications, and quality standards.

The role includes documenting site progress, preparing inspection logs, coordinating with project architects, consultants, and contractors, and ensuring adherence to UBLL, CIDB, and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in architecture or related field.
• Registered as an Inspector of Works (IOW) with Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia (LAM).
• CIDB Green Card holder.
• 3–5 years of hands-on site supervision in architectural finishing works.
• Ability to read, interpret and cross-check architectural drawings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct continuous site inspections on architectural, interior fitting-out, and finishing works to verify compliance with drawings, specs, and quality benchmarks.
• Verify incoming architectural materials and shop drawings against approved samples.
• Identify defects or non-conformities; issue Site Memos/NCRs and track rectifications.
• Maintain daily site diaries and prepare weekly/monthly quality reports.
• Coordinate with project architects, consultants, and main/sub-contractors to resolve issues.
• Assist in unit inspections, snagging, and pre-handover defect rectification.
• Ensure compliance with UBLL, CIDB requirements, and site safety protocols.

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Architectural Inspector of Works (IOW) to oversee daily on-site construction activities and ensure all architectural finishes, mock-ups, and installations strictly comply with approved drawings, contract specifications, and quality standards.

Job Description

Conduct continuous site inspections on architectural, interior fitting-out, and finishing works to ensure compliance with approved contract drawings, mock-ups, specifications, and quality standards (CONQUAS / QLASSIC).

Verify and inspect all incoming architectural materials and shop drawings delivered to the site to ensure they match approved samples and specifications.

Identify, document, and report construction defects or non-compliance issues; issue Site Memos/NCRs and closely monitor rectification works by contractors.

Maintain detailed daily site diaries, keep accurate inspection logs, capture progress photographs, and prepare weekly/monthly quality inspection reports.

Work closely with project architects, consultants, C&S/M&E IOWs, main contractors, and sub-contractors to resolve technical site issues and spatial interface conflicts.

Assist in setting up unit inspections, joint snagging lists, and overseeing defect rectification prior to vacant possession/handover.

Ensure site activities comply with standard local statutory requirements, including the Uniform Building By-Laws (UBBL), CIDB requirements, and site safety protocols.

Job Requirements & Qualification

Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Architecture, Building Construction, Architectural Technology, or equivalent.

Registered as an Inspector of Works (IOW) with Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia (LAM).

Valid CIDB Green Card holder.

Minimum 3 – 5 years of hands‑on site supervision experience specializing in architectural and architectural finishing works (high‑rise residential, commercial, or mixed development experience preferred).

Strong ability to read, interpret, and cross-check architectural and structural construction drawings.

Sound knowledge of architectural finishing details, waterproofing systems, joinery, tiling, facade, and drywalls.

Good understanding of quality standard assessment frameworks (QLASSIC / CONQUAS).

Proficient in Microsoft Office; digital defect inspection software experience is an added advantage.

Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia (both written and spoken).

High integrity, strong communication skills, and firm on‑site quality control.
