Job summary

Yamaguchi MFG Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a growing Malaysian subsidiary of a Japan-based manufacturer, is seeking a hands-on Production Technician for our injection molding line in Shah Alam. You will set up machines, install molds, monitor process parameters, and ensure product quality and safety compliance.

Fresh graduates are welcome; 1–2 years' injection molding or manufacturing experience is a plus. You will collaborate with maintenance and QA, maintain logs, and contribute to continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical/Mechatronic or related technical fields.

• Experience operating injection molding machines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate injection molding machines according to production requirements and mold specifications.
• Install and align molds properly, ensuring machine readiness.
• Monitor and adjust parameters to maintain stable production and product quality.
• Perform first-piece inspection after setup before mass production.
• Support maintenance and troubleshooting of auxiliary equipment (dryers, mold temperature controllers, crushers, hot oil machines, robotic arms).
• Collaborate with QA to inspect quality and record production data.
• Troubleshoot injection molding issues and perform preventive maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace and assist in reducing scrap and cycle time.
• Provide feedback for process improvements and support additional tasks as needed.

Job Overview

We are looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented Production Technician to support daily operations on our injection molding line. The ideal candidate will be responsible for machine setup, troubleshooting, and maintaining production quality and efficiency in accordance with safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation & Setup

• Set up and operate injection molding machines according to production requirements and mold specifications.
• Install and align molds properly, ensuring secure clamping, correct waterline connections, and machine readiness.
• Monitor and adjust key machine parameters (temperature, pressure, cycle time, etc.) to maintain stable production and product quality.
• Perform first-piece inspection after setup to confirm conformance before starting mass production.
• Support the daily maintenance and troubleshooting of auxiliary equipment including dryers, mold temperature controllers, crushers, hot oil machines, and robotic arms, ensuring they function reliably throughout production.
• Conduct safe machine start-up and shutdown procedures, and collaborate with maintenance or engineering teams when necessary.

Quality Control

• Collaborate with the QA team to inspect and verify product quality.
• Perform corrective actions when quality issues arise.
• Record production data and maintain accurate logs.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Troubleshoot and resolve injection molding issues during production.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on machines and equipment.
• Ensure proper use and care of tools and machinery.

Workplace Management

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
• Follow company safety procedures and workplace rules at all times.
• Assist in managing scrap and regrind materials effectively.
• Contribute to productivity improvement by minimizing cycle time and material waste.
• Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvement.
• Support production team and supervisor with additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronic, or related technical fields is preferred.
• Fresh graduates with strong technical skills are encouraged to apply.

Experience

• 1–2 years of experience in injection molding or manufacturing production is an advantage.
• Experience operating injection molding machines is preferred.

Soft Skills

• Strong attention to detail and a proactive work attitude.
• Good communication skills and ability to follow work instructions.
• Willingness to work shifts and perform overtime when required.

Language

• Basic English is required.
• Mandarin or Bahasa Malaysia proficiency is a plus.
