Job summary

Nansin (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a hands‑on Injection Molding Engineer to develop, optimise and control injection‑moulding processes for our manufacturing operations in Penang. You will improve product quality, process stability, productivity and safe production performance.

Responsibilities include setting up moulding parameters, leading trials, troubleshooting defects and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to drive improvements while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Polymer, Materials, Mechatronics or related field.
• At least 3 years of injection-moulding process or manufacturing engineering experience.
• Good knowledge of injection-moulding machines, mould construction, process parameters and defects.
• Able to conduct mould trials, establish process windows and analyze data.

Responsibilities

• Set up, validate and optimise injection-moulding process parameters for new and existing products.
• Lead mould trials, machine setup, material trials and production start-up activities.
• Troubleshoot defects like short shots, flash, sink marks, warpage and bubbles.
• Monitor cycle time, capacity, scrap, downtime and process capability; implement improvements.
• Prepare process sheets, work instructions, setup standards and control plans.
• Support new product introduction, changes and process qualification.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Tooling and suppliers to resolve issues.
• Identify opportunities for automation, energy reduction, and productivity gains.
• Train technicians and operators on validated settings and safety practices.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, environmental and housekeeping requirements.

We are looking for a hands‑on Injection Molding Engineer to develop, optimise and control injection‑moulding processes for our manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will improve product quality, process stability, productivity and safe production performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, validate and optimise injection‑moulding process parameters for new and existing products.
• Lead mould trials, machine setup, material trials and production start‑up activities.
• Troubleshoot moulding defects such as short shots, flash, sink marks, warpage, burn marks, flow lines, bubbles and dimensional variation.
• Monitor cycle time, machine capacity, scrap, downtime and process capability, and implement improvement actions.
• Prepare and maintain process sheets, work instructions, setup standards, control plans and technical records.
• Support new‑product introduction, engineering changes, sample preparation and process qualification.
• Work with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Tooling and suppliers to resolve mould, machine, material and automation issues.
• Identify opportunities for mistake‑proofing, automation, energy reduction, material savings and productivity improvement.
• Train technicians, setters and production employees on approved process settings, troubleshooting and safe operating practices.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, environmental and housekeeping requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Polymer, Materials, Mechatronics or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 3 years of relevant injection‑moulding process or manufacturing engineering experience.
• Good knowledge of injection‑moulding machines, mould construction, process parameters, thermoplastic materials and common moulding defects.
• Able to conduct mould trials, establish process windows and analyse process and quality data.
• Experience with robots, auxiliary equipment, hot‑runner systems, automation or preventive maintenance will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of problem‑solving and quality tools such as 5 Why, fishbone analysis, DOE, FMEA, SPC and control plans is preferred.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication and cross‑functional teamwork skills.
• Good written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Ability to speak Japanese will be an added advantage.
