JOHNSON MATTHEY SERVICES SDN. BHD. in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an Infrastructure Operations Engineer to support infrastructure remotely and onsite in a shift-based model.

You will coordinate with cross-functional teams, perform Microsoft monthly server patching, and participate in Major Incident Management, including out-of-hours resolution and service restoration. You will assist L3 teams by updating documentation, troubleshooting issues, and implementing approved resolutions.

Qualifications

• Recognised IT qualification is required.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware) and Windows Server.
• Cloud computing experience withAzure and AWS.
• Familiarity with Linux (RHEL/SUSE).
• Experience with Veeam and PowerShell for day-to-day ops.
• Strong monthly patching experience on Microsoft platforms.
• Understanding of ITIL principles and practices.
• Willingness to rotate to cover EMEA hours and onsite duties.

Infrastructure Operation Engineer (Shift based and Onsite)

As an Infrastructure Operations Engineer, you will help drive our goals by supporting infrastructure remotely and working with cross-cultural teams. You will work with Johnson Matthey employees and other external organisations to complete projects, perform Microsoft monthly patching activities for all servers, and take part in the Major Incident Management process, which may mean out of hours participation in incident resolution and service restoration. You will support L3 teams in updating documentation and keep it up to date in line with Johnson Matthey standards and policies, analyse and troubleshoot issues, and implement approved and standardized resolutions.

Key responsibilities

• Support infrastructure remotely and work with cross-cultural teams
• Work with Johnson Matthey employees and other external organisations to complete projects
• Perform Microsoft monthly patching activities for all servers
• Take part in the Major Incident Management process, including out of hours participation in incident resolution and service restoration
• Support L3 teams in updating documentation and keep it up to date in line with Johnson Matthey standards and policies
• Analyse, troubleshoot and implement approved and standardized resolutions
• Carry out any other duties within the employee's skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed

About you

• Able to work shift (24x5) and based in the office and standby occasionally on weekends
• Holder of a recognised IT qualification
• Operational experience in virtualization e.g. VMWare, Windows Server OS
• Operational experience in Cloud Computing e.g Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Additional knowledge in Linux (RHEL & SUSE) would be an added advantage
• Operational experience in Veeam, PowerShell preferably in a Level 2 role providing day to day operational support
• Good experience in performing Microsoft monthly patching activity
• Awareness of ITIL principles
• Working knowledge of planning, installation, on-going management, monitoring, troubleshooting, and decommissioning of IT services and technologies
• Able to operate in rotation for EMEA hours
