Johnson Matthey Services Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an Infrastructure Operations Engineer (Level 2 - Rotational Shift) in Kuala Lumpur. The role focuses on remote infrastructure support, cross-functional collaboration, and proactive patching and incident handling.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with VMware, Windows Server, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), and Linux (RHEL/SUSE), plus PowerShell and Veeam. ITIL knowledge and weekend standby are beneficial for the position.

Qualifications

• A recognised IT qualification is required.
• Operational experience with virtualization and cloud platforms is essential.
• Familiarity with ITIL and incident management processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote infrastructure support and collaborate with cross-cultural teams.
• "Work with JM staff and external partners to complete projects as assigned."
• Perform monthly Microsoft patching for all servers.
• Contribute to Major Incident Management and participate in after-hours when needed.
• Update and maintain technical documentation to JM standards.
• Analyse, troubleshoot, and implement approved resolutions.

Vacancy: Infrastructure Operations Engineer (Level 2-Rotational Shift) Location: Kuala Lumpur Job Family: Infrastructure and Operations

The Role

• To support infrastructure remotely and work with cross-cultural team
• To work with JM employees and other external organisations to complete projects
• To perform Microsoft monthly patching activities for all servers
• To take part in the Major Incident Management process, which may mean out of hours participation in incident resolution and service restoration.
• To support L3 teams in updating documentations and keep it up to date in line with JM standards and policies.
• To analyse, troubleshooting and implementing approved and standardized resolutions.
• To carry out any other duties within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.

Requirements for the role

• Able to work shift (24x5) and based in the office and standby occasionally on weekends
• Holder of a recognised IT qualification
• Operational experience in virtualization e.g. VMWare, Windows Server OS, Cloud Computing e.g Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Additional knowledge in Linux (RHEL & SUSE) would be added advantage.
• Operational experience in Veeam, PowerShell preferably in a Level 2 role providing day to day operational support.
• Good experience in performing Microsoft monthly patching activity.
• Awareness of ITIL principles
• Working knowledge of planning, installation, on‑going management, monitoring, troubleshooting, and decommissioning of IT services and technologies.
• You will be required to be able to operate in rotation for EMEA hours.
