Job summary

HIMA Group is seeking a skilled IT infrastructure engineer to monitor and maintain complex LAN/WAN networks, servers, and cloud integrations. You will troubleshoot incidents, manage virtualization platforms, and drive ISO 27001 and security practices across global teams.

The role requires 4–7 years in infra/cloud operations, strong VMware/Hyper‑V, Kubernetes, Docker, and Azure experience, and the ability to collaborate across time zones.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain LAN/WAN network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, VPN).
• Troubleshoot Level 2/3 incidents; escalate to vendors when needed.
• Support network segmentation, VLANs, and access control policies.
• Administer and maintain VMware/Hyper‑V server environments; patching and decommissioning.
• Monitor server health and capacity; prevent outages.
• Manage hypervisor platforms and VM lifecycle across server farms.
• Operate and maintain VMware/Azure backups; ensure recovery objectives.
• Enforce infrastructure security standards; patch management and hardening.
• Support ISO 27001 compliance activities and audit prep.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain LAN/WAN network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls and VPN connections to ensure availability and performance.


• Troubleshoot and resolve network incidents at Level 2 and Level 3, escalating to vendors where necessary.


• Support network segmentation, VLAN configuration and access control policies in line with security standards.


• Administer and maintain physical and virtual server environments (e.g. VMware/Hyper‑V), including provisioning, patching and decommissioning.


• Monitor server health, resource utilization and capacity, taking proactive action to prevent outages.


• Manage hypervisor platforms and virtual machine lifecycle across the server farms.


• VMware/Azure Operate and maintain backup solutions, ensuring scheduled jobs complete successfully and recovery objectives are met.


• Enforce infrastructure security standards including patch management, hardening baselines and access control reviews.


• Support ISO 27001 compliance activities related to infrastructure, including evidence gathering and audit preparation.


• Collaborate with the CISO and security team to identify and remediate infrastructure vulnerabilities.


• Maintain accurate documentation of infrastructure configurations, network diagrams, SOPs and change records.


• Participate in Change Management processes, assessing infrastructure impact and ensuring proper approval and rollback planning.


• Contribute to Problem Management by performing root cause analysis on recurring infrastructure incidents.


• Advise local IT teams and stakeholders on infrastructure‑related topics, standards and upcoming changes.


• Support hybrid connectivity between on‑premises infrastructure and Azure cloud environments, ensuring secure and reliable network integration.

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, Network Engineering or related field.


• 4–7 years in an infrastructure, systems or cloud operations role, with hands‑on experience across at least two of the following domains: networking, server/virtualization administration, or cloud platforms.


• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals — TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, firewall rules and VPN.


• (Primary skill — must‑have) Hands‑on experience administering virtualized server environments using VMware vSphere/vCenter or Microsoft Hyper‑V.


• (Secondary skill — desirable) Working experience with Azure infrastructure services — Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, VNet, NSG, Azure Monitor.


• (Primary skill — must‑have) Experience operating and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters and containerised workloads (Docker).


• (Secondary skill — desirable) Experience managing enterprise backup solutions and performing restore testing and DR validation.


• Familiarity with scripting for automation purposes (PowerShell, Bash or Python).


• Experience working in an ITIL‑centric ITSM environment — handling incidents, changes and problems through a ticketing system.


• Working understanding of ISO 27001 requirements as they relate to infrastructure operations.


• Project Management fundamentals Able to document infrastructure configurations, network diagrams, SOPs and runbooks clearly and consistently.


• Strong troubleshooting mindset — able to methodically isolate and resolve complex infrastructure issues.


• Able to communicate technical topics clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.


• Comfortable working across time zones and collaborating with global IT teams.


• The following are a strong advantage: ISO 27001 awareness and working knowledge of infrastructure compliance requirements; hands‑on experience with Proxmox VE for virtualisation management.


• The following certifications are a bonus, not mandatory: CompTIA Network+, Microsoft AZ‑104 (Azure Administrator Associate), VMware VCP‑DCV, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), ITIL v4 Foundation.
