Job Responsibilities
- Administer, support, and continuously improve enterprise infrastructure across on-premises, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments.
- Monitor and maintain the availability, reliability, performance, scalability, and security of critical infrastructure services in line with Infrastructure Reliability Engineering (IRE) principles and established standards.
- Administer and maintain Windows and Linux server environments, ensuring compliance with operational, security, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage and support virtualisation and hyper-converged infrastructure platforms including VMware vSphere/vCenter, Nutanix AHV, Nutanix Prism Central, and Huawei HCI.
- Support the design, deployment, administration, and optimisation of cloud infrastructure and services across Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Huawei Cloud, and other cloud platforms as required.
- Administer and support Kubernetes environments, including cluster operations, platform upgrades, performance optimisation, and workload availability.
- Monitor infrastructure health, availability, and capacity using enterprise monitoring and observability platforms such as Zabbix, ManageEngine, Dynatrace, and related technologies.
- Perform capacity planning, forecasting, performance tuning, and lifecycle management activities to support business growth and future technology needs.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex infrastructure, cloud, network, virtualisation, storage, backup, and security-related incidents, escalating where appropriate.
- Conduct root cause analysis, support problem management, and implement service improvements to reduce recurring incidents and strengthen operational resilience.
- Administer enterprise backup (Cohesity), recovery, and data protection platforms, ensuring backup compliance, recoverability, and cyber-resilience readiness.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of highly available, fault-tolerant, and resilient infrastructure solutions aligned with business continuity objectives.
- Coordinate and execute disaster recovery exercises, failover testing, recovery validation, and business continuity activities, including the required documentation and follow-up actions.
- Administer, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise network and security technologies, including Huawei switches and routers, Aruba networking solutions, load balancers, Imperva platforms, firewalls, and Fortinet FortiGate security appliances.
- Support enterprise networking infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, VPN, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, wireless networks, internet connectivity, load balancing, and network security services.
- Coordinate with telecommunications providers, cloud service providers, technology partners, and vendors on infrastructure delivery, incident resolution, service improvements, and operational stability.
- Implement and maintain infrastructure security controls, hardening standards, vulnerability remediation activities, certificate management processes, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Support VAPT activities and compliance requirements, identity and access management (IAM), vulnerability management, audit remediation, and regulatory reviews.
- Administer and maintain IT Service Management (ITSM) and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) platforms, ensuring accurate asset inventories, configuration records, service dependencies, and infrastructure documentation.
- Apply and support ITIL-aligned processes including Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Asset Management, Request Fulfilment, and Configuration Management.
- Develop and maintain operational procedures, technical standards, automation initiatives, and infrastructure governance practices to improve efficiency and service quality.
- Prepare and maintain infrastructure architecture diagrams, network diagrams, technical documentation, operational runbooks, implementation plans, and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with application, cloud, network, security, and business teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable technology solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Contribute to infrastructure modernisation, cloud adoption, technology refresh, platform migration, automation, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Assess emerging technologies and provide recommendations that improve reliability, security, scalability, operational efficiency, and user experience.
- Provide technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and support to infrastructure colleagues, operational teams, and project stakeholders.
- Participate in after-hours and weekend support, planned maintenance activities, and major incident response when required.
- Undertake other infrastructure, cloud, networking, security, monitoring, ITSM, CMDB, backup, disaster recovery, and operational responsibilities as assigned to support evolving business and technology requirements.
Education/Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. Equivalent combination of education, professional certifications, and relevant industry experience will be considered.
- Relevant professional certifications in Cloud, Infrastructure, Virtualization, Networking, Security, Container Platforms, Backup & Recovery, and IT Service Management are highly desirable.
- Candidates with certifications across multiple technology domains, including Infrastructure, Cloud, Networking, Security, and Reliability Engineering, will have a distinct advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in enterprise infrastructure engineering, operations, and support within medium - to large-scale environments.
- Practical experience supporting hybrid infrastructure across on-premises, virtualisation, cloud, networking, security, backup, and monitoring platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Windows, Linux, Active Directory, VMware, Nutanix, cloud platforms, and Kubernetes environments.
- Experience supporting enterprise networking and security infrastructure, including routing, switching, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, LAN/WAN, and wireless technologies.
- Working experience with monitoring, observability, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
- Experience using or administering ITSM and CMDB platforms and working within ITIL-aligned processes.
- Sound understanding of infrastructure security, vulnerability management, system hardening, and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, contribute to root cause analysis, and implement service improvements.
- Experience coordinating with vendors, telecommunications providers, cloud service providers, and technology partners.
- Experience within insurance, financial services, banking, or another regulated industry will be an added advantage.
