Job summary

Lam Research in Penang, Malaysia, is offering a 6-month internship in the Global Information Systems Group. The role provides hands-on exposure to factory IT, OT systems, and cybersecurity within a real manufacturing environment.

You will support daily operations, troubleshoot basic tech issues, and work with engineers to improve system performance while learning across engineering, IT, and cybersecurity domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or engineering related field.
• Available to commit to a minimum 6-month internship period.
• Strong interest in technology and manufacturing.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Willingness to learn new systems and technologies.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of computers, networking, or programming is an advantage.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
