Job summary

Penang Adventist Hospital seeks a dedicated Infection Prevention and Control Leader to drive the hospital IPC programme. You will coordinate regulatory compliance, provide clinical expertise, and guide staff on evidence-based infection prevention practices.

You will lead IPC nurses in surveillance and outbreak investigations, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and participate in quality and accreditation activities to uphold hospital standards.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of infection prevention, surveillance and outbreak management.
• Strong communication, leadership and teamwork abilities.
• Experience with regulatory/accreditation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee IPC programme in compliance with MOH regulations and accreditation.
• Provide clinical guidance on infection prevention practices, policies and procedures.
• Establish infection control risk assessments and implement prevention strategies.
• Lead Infection Control Nurses in surveillance, investigations and reporting.
• Collaborate with management and clinical teams on IPC concerns and outbreaks.
• Develop and deliver staff education on infection prevention and patient safety.
• Monitor IPC performance and drive corrective actions and quality improvements.
• Support development of clinical guidelines and protocols for compliance.
• Participate in hospital-wide quality and accreditation initiatives.

Education

Diploma in Nursing

APC (Annual Practising Certificate)

Post Basic qualification in Infection Control
