Job summary

Flex is hiring an Industrial Engineering Senior Manager located in Prai, Penang. You will lead a team of engineers to improve productivity, standardize labor utilization, and drive cost-efficient production planning and control.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement manufacturable new products, optimize layouts, and reduce waste while ensuring product quality and site performance.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Master's or MBA Degree preferred.
• Typically requires a minimum of 9 years of engineering experience including supervision.
• Demonstrates mastery of functional knowledge in relation to other functions and a complete understanding of the function and those of related businesses.

Job Summary

Summary:

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an Industrial Engineering Senior Manager located in Prai, Penang.

Responsible for managing a team of industrial engineers working on increasing productivity through the management of workers, methods of business organization, and technology to solve organizational, production, and related problems efficiently.

What a typical day looks like:

• Manages a team of engineers and technicians to establish work measurement programs and evaluates work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.

• Evaluates staff utilization, facility layout, and operational data, such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to define efficient utilization of workers and equipment.

• Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocation workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.

• May develop management systems for cost reviews, financial planning, wage and salary administration, and job evaluation

• Develops management control systems to aid in financial planning and cost reviews, and design production planning and control systems to coordinate activities and ensure product quality.

• Designs or improve systems for the physical distribution of goods and services, as well as defining the most efficient plant locations.

• Organizes details into a broad view of the total operations and organization of Flex.

• Partners with other engineering team members to design manufacturable new products

• Manages initiatives to increase throughput, reduce cost and improve performance in constrained areas.

• Implements appropriate HR strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce

• Impacts the long‑term (annual) direction and financial or operational success of the function and/or site.

• Approves and/or creates functional processes or technologies.

• Establishes and ensures effective achievement of functional strategic plans and objectives for the site.

• May have P&L responsibility for the function.

• Develops plans for structuring and implementing major initiatives.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training. A Master's or MBA Degree is preferred.

• Typically requires a minimum of 9 years of engineering experience including supervision.
