The role focuses on labor standards, workflow optimization, and cost-effective production planning to boost throughput and product quality.

We seek candidates with a Bachelor's in Engineering (Master’s/MBA preferred) and at least 8 years of related experience, including supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of engineers and technicians to establish work measurement programs and standards for labor utilization.
• Evaluate staff utilization, facility layout, and production data to define efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
• Recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste.
• Develop management systems for cost reviews, financial planning, wage and salary administration, and job evaluation.
• Design production planning and control systems to coordinate activities and ensure product quality.
• Design or improve systems for physical distribution and plant location optimization.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to design manufacturable new products.
• Lead initiatives to increase throughput, reduce cost and improve performance in constrained areas.
• Implement HR strategies to recruit and retain a qualified workforce.

Industrial Engineering Manager / Asst. Manager - Prai

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an Industrial Engineering Manager / Assistant Manager located inPrai, Penang.

Responsible for managing a team of industrial engineers working on increasing productivity through the management of workers, methods of business organization, and technology to solve organizational, production, and related problems efficiently.

What a typical day looks like:

Manages a team of engineers and technicians to establish work measurement programs and evaluates work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.

Evaluates staff utilization, facility layout, and operational data, such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to define efficient utilization of workers and equipment.

Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocationwork stationsand equipment, and purchase of equipment.

May develop management systems for cost reviews, financial planning, wage and salary administration, and job evaluation

Develops management control systems to aid in financial planning and cost reviews, and design production planning and control systems to coordinate activities and ensure product quality.

Designs or improve systems for the physical distribution of goods and services, as well as defining the most efficient plant locations.

Organizes details into a broad view of the total operations and organization of Flex.

Partners with other engineering team members to design manufacturable new products.

Manages initiatives to increase throughput, reduce cost and improve performance in constrained areas.

Implements appropriate HR strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field. A Master's or MBA Degree is preferred.

Typically requires 8 years of engineering experience including supervision.

Prior experience in industrial engineering in the high technology electronics industry or related area is preferred.
