Job summary

Flex is seeking an Industrial Engineer in Prai, Penang, to support teams that design, build and deliver innovative products. You will drive productivity by optimizing worker methods, layouts and processes, with a focus on LEAN, automation, and cost reduction.

The role involves coordinating NPI process planning, analyzing production data, and collaborating with engineering and management to implement efficiency improvements and cost controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent training.
• Typically requires 5 years of engineering experience in the high technology electronics industry or related area.
• Experience with LEAN, Six Sigma and production improvement is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Simulates process, materials and manufacturing workflow and provides input to process engineer using REFA, MOST, WITNESS or similar tools.
• Coordinates process planning and setup for NPI with respect to takt, cycle time and direct labor requirements.
• Reviews results during prototyping and trials and gives feedback to NPI and sales teams.
• Analyzes workforce utilization, facility layout, and production data to optimize labor and equipment use.
• Recommends methods to improve worker efficiency and reduce waste of materials and utilities.
• Collaborates with management to implement plans and recommendations.
• Develops management systems for cost analysis and production planning and control.
• Designs or updates production layouts and distribution planning for efficiency.
• Leads initiatives to increase throughput and reduce costs in LEAN, Automation and/or 6Sigma projects.
