Job summary

Flex is seeking an Industrial Engineer in Johor to join Flex PTP. You will support teams building great products and contribute to growth in a respectful, inclusive environment.

Typical day includes time estimation for quotes, simulating processes with REFA/MOST/WITNESS, coordinating NPI process planning, reviewing prototypes, developing labor standards, and driving efficiency through Lean and Six Sigma projects.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent experience and training.
• Fresh graduates in Mechanical Engineering are welcome to apply.
• Demonstrates understanding on advanced functional and technical skills and basic process skills.
• Typically requires skill and troubleshooting, and diagnostics, and overview of the entire test process and the ability to train others.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Responsibilities

• Provides process time estimation to the quote team.
• Simulates process, materials and manufacturing workflow and gives input to process engineers by using REFA, MOST, WITNESS and/or adequate tools.
• Coordinates process planning and setup for NPI with respect to takt, cycle time and direct labor requirement.
• Reviews results during prototyping and trial runs and gives feedback to NPI and sales team.
• Work measurement programs and examine work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.
• Examines staff utilization, facility layout, and operational data, such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to define efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
• Recommends improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste in materials and utilities.
• Confer with management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations.
• May develop management systems for cost reviews, financial planning, wage and salary administration, and job evaluation.
• Develops management control systems to aid in financial planning and cost reviews, and design production planning and control systems to coordinate activities and ensure product quality.
• Design or improve systems for the physical distribution of goods and services, as well as defining the most efficient plant locations.
• Manages and supports initiatives to increase throughput, reduce costs and improve performance in constrained areas like Lean, Automation and/or Six Sigma projects.
