Job summary

Flex in Penang seeks a Process Engineer to support manufacturing teams in Prai or Batu Kawan. You will drive cost, quality and delivery improvements by optimizing processes and equipment, and leading ECOs.

Responsibilities include defining designs for manufacturability, root-cause analysis, capital equipment justification, training production personnel on new technology transfers, and sustaining robust process controls.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience and training.
• Typically requires 5 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Recognize the manufacturing process, technologies, techniques and the product.
• Define, implement and evaluate proposed designs and processes for manufacturability.
• Identify root causes of failures in the manufacturing process.
• Participate in daily production activities and problem solving.
• Prepare justification, purchase and implement capital equipment for production.
• Oversee new process equipment production.
• Raising and introduction of engineering change orders (ECOs).
• Establish robust, repeatable process parameters.
• Develop and take ownership of process control methodologies.
• Troubleshoot process related issues.
• Engage in cycle time and process improvements.
• Evaluate and select engineered materials.
• Implement statistical process research on new and existing products.
• Implement safety, productivity and efficiency improvements.
• Improve manufacturing techniques and throughput.
• Develop and maintain process documentation.
• Review processing methods.
• Assist in training and transfer of new technology.
• Provide equipment maintenance and repair support.
