Job summary

Pivotal Systems in Kulim Hi-Tech Park, Kedah, Malaysia invites an Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer to optimize processes, develop SOPs, conduct time studies, and support NPI. You will design layouts, manage BOMs, and drive continuous improvement with Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S while collaborating across Engineering, Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Supply Chain.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years in IE/PE in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, VSM, and 5S.
  • Experience in time study, work measurement, line balancing, production planning and capacity analysis.
  • Proficiency in Excel and ERP/MRP; AutoCAD or simulation software is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is advantageous for communications.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and cost.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation.
  • Conduct time studies, line balancing, capacity planning, and manpower planning.
  • Design and improve production layouts, ergonomics, and material flow to reduce waste and improve safety.
  • Develop and maintain BOMs, process routings, and production documentation.
  • Support NPI by establishing efficient manufacturing processes and validating readiness.
  • Identify bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement using Lean, Kaizen, 5S, and Six Sigma.
  • Monitor KPIs and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Supply Chain to resolve issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Support cost reduction through process optimization and waste elimination.
  • Participate in production trials, ECN/ECO, and process validation.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO, quality standards, environmental regulations, and safety requirements.

Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation.

Develop and maintain manufacturing Bills of Materials (BOMs), process routings, and production documentation.

Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by establishing efficient manufacturing processes and validating production readiness.

Identify process bottlenecks and implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and Six Sigma methodologies.

Monitor key manufacturing performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Supply Chain teams to resolve manufacturing and process-related issues.

Conduct root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

Support cost reduction initiatives through process optimization, cycle time reduction, and waste elimination.

Participate in production trials, engineering change implementation (ECN/ECO), and process validation activities.

Ensure compliance with ISO procedures, quality standards, environmental regulations, and workplace safety requirements.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Process Engineering in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and 5S methodologies.
  • Experience in time study, work measurement, line balancing, production planning, and capacity analysis.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, process flow development, and production optimization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/MRP systems; knowledge of AutoCAD or manufacturing simulation software is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and continuous improvement initiatives is preferred.
  • Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is required. Mandarin is an advantage to facilitate communication with customers, suppliers, and technical support.
