Pivotal Systems (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd seeks an experienced Incoming Quality specialist for MFC components. You will inspect materials, review supplier documentation, and ensure conformance to drawings and quality standards in a high-precision manufacturing setting.
The role requires hands-on measurement with CMMs and calipers, strong problem-solving, and effective cross-functional collaboration with SQE, purchasing, and production teams to sustain quality and delivery targets.
Manage and perform incoming inspection activities for raw materials, components, machined parts, electronic components, and other purchased parts used in Mass Flow Controller (MFC) manufacturing, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
Support new supplier qualification, new part introduction, and supplier/process changes by performing incoming inspection, dimensional measurement, and quality verification. Review FAIR (First Article Inspection Report) submitted by suppliers to ensure compliance with defined requirements.
Create and maintain incoming inspection specifications by defining inspection criteria, measurement methods, sampling requirements, acceptance criteria, and appropriate measurement tools.
Review and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, tolerances, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)requirements to establish appropriate inspection methods for MFC components and assemblies.
Perform dimensional and visual inspections using appropriate measurement equipment to verify the quality and conformity of incoming components, including precision-machined parts and other critical MFC components.
Work closely with SQE and suppliers to investigate incoming quality issues, identify root causes, follow up on supplier CAPA/8D corrective actions, and verify the effectiveness of implemented corrective actions.
Assist SQE in conducting Gemba walks and supplier site visits to verify the implementation and effectiveness of committed corrective and preventive actions.
Coordinate and participate as a GR&R (Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility) assessor for selected critical measurement tools to ensure measurement system accuracy, repeatability, and reliability.
Monitor and analyze incoming inspection results, identify recurring defects and quality trends, and provide recommendations to improve supplier quality and incoming inspection performance.
Identify and implement opportunities to streamline incoming inspection processes, improve inspection efficiency, optimize sampling methods, and strengthen inspection effectiveness without compromising product quality.
Identify, document, and communicate incoming material and component non-conformities. Support the disposition and follow-up of rejected materials with relevant departments and suppliers.
Prepare and maintain incoming inspection records, inspection reports, non-conformance reports, supplier quality records, FAIR/FAI documentation, measurement results, and other quality-related documents in accordance with established procedures.
Comply with quality management system requirements and assist the Quality Engineer/Manager in internal and external audits, supplier audits, and other quality system activities.
Work closely with Engineering, SQE, Purchasing, Production, Warehouse, and other relevant departments to resolve incoming quality issues and ensure timely release of qualified materials and components for MFC production.
Identify and implement quality improvement initiatives to reduce incoming defects, improve supplier performance, enhance inspection methods, and support overall product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the immediate superior from time to time.
