Job summary

Local Assembly Sdn Bhd in Gelang Patah, Johor seeks a Quality Control Inspector to perform incoming material inspections and uphold product quality. The role involves verifying materials and documenting results, using vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM/STPM, Certificate, or Diploma in Quality Control, Manufacturing, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of working experience in quality inspection, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in incoming quality inspection (IQC) will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming quality inspections on raw materials, components, and parts according to inspection procedures, drawings, and specifications.
• Ensure prompt inspection to prevent delays in production.
• Verify material quality, quantity, dimensions, and appearance against approved specifications.
• Identify, record, and report defective or non-conforming materials to the QA/QC Supervisor or Engineer.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, checklists, and quality reports in accordance with company procedures.
• Use measuring instruments and ensure they are calibrated and maintained.
• Work with Warehouse, Production, Purchasing, and QA to resolve material quality issues.
• Support continuous improvement to minimize defects and improve inspection efficiency.

Job description

Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate inspection of incoming raw materials, components, and parts to meet company quality standards and customer specifications. The role aims to prevent defective materials from entering the production process, minimize quality issues, and support smooth and efficient production operations.

Key Responsibilities

Incoming Material Inspection

Perform incoming quality inspections on raw materials, components, and parts according to established inspection procedures, drawings, and specifications.

Ensure all incoming materials are inspected promptly to prevent delays in production.

Verify material quality, quantity, dimensions, and appearance against approved specifications.

Quality Control & Defect Identification

Identify, record, and report defective or non-conforming materials to the QA/QC Supervisor or Engineer.

Ensure rejected or non-conforming materials are properly identified, labelled, and segregated to prevent unintended use.

Assist in investigating incoming material quality issues and support corrective actions.

Inspection Documentation & Reporting

Maintain accurate inspection records, checklists, and quality reports.

Ensure all inspection results are properly documented and updated in accordance with company procedures.

Report any abnormalities or quality concerns promptly to the relevant personnel.

Measuring Equipment & Quality Standards

Use appropriate measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection equipment.

Ensure measuring instruments are properly maintained and within their calibration validity.

Follow established Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and work instructions.

Work closely with the Warehouse, Production, Purchasing, and QA departments to resolve incoming material quality issues.

Support continuous improvement activities to minimize material defects and improve inspection efficiency.

Maintain good housekeeping and practice 5S in the inspection area.

Perform any other duties assigned by the superior from time to time.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience
