Job summary

Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas seeks an experienced In-Room Dining Supervisor to lead the IRD operations and deliver warm, personalised service to guests.

You will supervise daily IRD activities, coordinate with the Kitchen and F&B teams, monitor order accuracy and timeliness, and coach front-line staff to uphold brand standards. Prior hospitality leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the daily operations of the In-Room Dining department.
• Ensure all in-room dining orders are received, prepared, delivered, and cleared efficiently and accurately.
• Monitor order taking, food preparation, tray setup, delivery, and clearance processes.
• Ensure orders are delivered within the established service time and according to hotel standards.
• Monitor the quality, presentation, temperature, and accuracy of all food and beverage orders.
• Ensure all guest requests, special dietary requirements, and preferences are properly communicated and handled.
• Conduct regular checks of guest floors, service areas, pantries, trolleys, trays, and equipment.
• Ensure proper mise en place and adequate operating supplies are maintained throughout each shift.
• Deliver warm, professional, and personalized service to all guests.
• Handle guest requests, feedback, and complaints promptly and professionally.
• Take ownership of service recovery and ensure appropriate follow-up with guests.
• Maintain awareness of VIP guests, repeat guests, special occasions, and guest preferences.
• Promote available food and beverage offerings, promotions, and upselling opportunities.
• Ensure guest privacy and discretion are maintained at all times.
• Supervise and support IRD team members during daily operations.
• Allocate duties and responsibilities according to business levels and operational requirements.
• Conduct daily briefings and ensure team members are aware of operational updates, VIP arrivals, promotions, and special requests.
• Coach and develop team members to achieve consistent service standards.
• Assist with training, onboarding, and orientation of new employees.
• Monitor employee grooming, punctuality, attendance, discipline, and overall performance.
• Lead by example and maintain a positive and professional working environment.
• Food & Beverage Quality
• Ensure all food and beverage items are presented according to hotel and brand standards.
• Work closely with the Kitchen and relevant F&B outlets to ensure food quality and timely order preparation.
• Monitor portion control, presentation, temperature, and product consistency.
• Ensure special dietary requests and food allergies are communicated accurately to the relevant teams.
• Report any quality issues immediately and coordinate corrective action.
• Order & Delivery Management
• Ensure all orders are accurately recorded and communicated to the Kitchen and Beverage teams.
• Monitor the progress of orders and coordinate with the Kitchen to minimize delays.
• Ensure guest orders are checked for accuracy before leaving the IRD operation.
• Ensure trays, trolleys, cutlery, condiments, and other required items are properly prepared.
• Monitor timely delivery and clearance of trays and trolleys from guest rooms and corridors.
• Ensure proper handling of guest belongings and hotel equipment during delivery and collection.
