Job summary

Tanjung Marine Sdn Bhd is seeking a Freight Forwarding Supervisor in Penang to lead a small team and manage end-to-end shipments, ensuring regulatory compliance and timely delivery. The role requires hands-on knowledge of customs procedures and strong coordination with customers and suppliers.

Applicants should have 3–5 years in freight forwarding with leadership exposure, and be fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Labour requirements include independent work style and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 3–5 years of freight forwarding experience with exposure to customs brokerage and 1–2 years in team leadership or supervision.
• Strong working knowledge of Port System, DagangNet, documentation, permits, HS code classification, OGA and customs procedures.
• Proven track record of dealing with regulatory agencies and port authorities.
• Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and spoken).
• Good communication and coordination skills and ability to work independently.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work under pressure managing multiple shipments.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main point of contact for customers on shipment enquiries and updates and resolve issues promptly.
• Coordinate end-to-end shipment process (export/import/transshipment) ensuring customs compliance and timely delivery.
• Ensure accuracy of shipping documents and system entries; handle customs clearance coordination and documentation.
• Provide internal updates on shipment status and issues to stakeholders and manage delays or cargo problems.

• Coordinate end-to-end shipment process (export/import/transshipment), ensure compliance with customs regulations and documentation requirements, monitor shipment movement and ensure timely delivery, and coordinate with warehouse and transport teams for cargo handling.
• Ensure accuracy of all shipping documents and system entries, handle customs clearance coordination and documentation, ensure compliance with import/export procedures and Incoterms, and maintain proper record-keeping for all shipments
• Handle shipment delays, cargo damage, or customs issues, provide solutions and alternatives to minimize disruption, and provide internal updates on shipment status and issues to relevant stakeholders
