Job summary

China Telecom Asia Pacific is seeking an experienced project manager for ICT transitions in the APAC region. The role covers planning, scope definition, implementation, cost control, risk management and user acceptance testing to ensure successful customer delivery.

You will conduct transitions following established processes, track schedules and resources, and maintain clear communication with customers, engineers and senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Studies / Electrical Engineering / Telecommunications or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of project implementation in system integration or telecoms.
• Sound knowledge in LAN and WAN networking technology, IT equipment, and vendor equipment.
• Fluent in English and Chinese for stakeholder communication.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Create & manage ICT project plans including scope, work, implementation, cost, risk, and UAT.
• Conduct project and service transition activities using established processes.
• Track project schedule, scope and resources utilization, performance and achievement of project objectives.
• Establish communication plan between customers, engineers and management.
• Track actual cost & schedule against baseline budget and plan.
• Provide periodic/regular and accurate updates and maintain effective communication channels with respective stakeholders.
• Manage issues & risks; lead process of issue identification and resolution to ensure smooth transition of project delivery.
• Engage in ICT-related technical discussions with 3rd party vendors/partners for delivery and installation of hardware.
• Lead the team of transition managers and handle escalations from transition managers relating to their project.
• Work closely with the delivery and operations teams to ensure a smooth transition into operations for ongoing BAU management.
• Responsible for integrating company internal and external resources for the Asia Pacific region and China mainland on ICT project implementation.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Studies / Electrical Engineering /Telecommunications or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of working experience within pre-sales technical support and project implementation in system integration or telecoms.
• Sound knowledge in LAN, WAN networking technology, computer technology, vendor network equipment, and IT equipment.
• PMP certification, SCRUM Master certification, or equivalent preferred. Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills of both English and Chinese with the ability to interact and communicate effectively with English and Chinese speaking stakeholders
• Must be a good team player, proactive in nature, fast learner, highly organized and positive attitude
• Ability to multi-task and manage various project elements simultaneously
