Job summary

Commerz Global Service Solutions is seeking an experienced backup administrator to support enterprise backup and recovery environments. The role requires strong technical expertise in agent-based and snapshot-based backups, plus proficiency with Linux (RHEL) and Windows.

You will work with Rubrik and other tools, participate in DR tests, and help optimize performance. The position offers hybrid work arrangements and exposure to global stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of enterprise backup and recovery administration.
• Experience with agent-based backups for Exchange, MS SQL, Oracle and snapshot-based backups.
• Proficient with Linux (RHEL) and Windows OS.
• Knowledge of Rubrik and Versity/ScoutAM; familiarity with other backup tools is beneficial.
• Basic knowledge of Bare Metal Restore (BMR).
• Experience in IT operations with responsibility for systems and operational processes.
• Familiarity with ITIL-based IT service management processes.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in backup environments.
• Advanced English; German is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operation, monitoring, and administration of enterprise backup and recovery systems.
• Execute and maintain backup policies, schedules, retention rules, and restore procedures.
• Perform and assist with restore activities and participate in disaster recovery tests.
• Monitor backup jobs, identify errors, and support incident resolution with senior staff.
• Assist in performance and capacity checks of backup environments and contribute to optimization.
• Support upgrades, migrations, and implementation of new backup solutions under guidance.
• Maintain and update operational documentation, runbooks, and procedures.
• Collaborate with internal customers and application owners to support backup/restore requirements.
• Provide out-of-hours and on-call support in exceptional cases.
