Job summary

NUR Power Sdn Bhd, based in Kulim Hi-Tech Park, Malaysia, seeks an HV Operation Engineer to oversee monitoring, operation, and management of LV to 132kV distribution networks. This role ensures safe, reliable switching, outage coordination, and system improvements across the HV/MV grid.

Key responsibilities include planning switching, maintaining diagrams, coordinating outages, and leading a team of operation and SCADA technicians, while upholding safety and procedural standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional qualification.
• Registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia as a Professional Engineer or with Practising Certificate.
• Hold Suruhanjaya Tenaga 132kV Competent Engineer certificate.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in operation and maintenance of electrical distribution networks.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage the distribution network (LV to 132kV).
• Coordinate switching operations and outages.
• Plan operations of Distribution System Assets and switching plans.
• Maintain single line diagrams for HV & MV grids.
• Coordinate field response crews (operation & SCADA).
• Manage Distribution Operation Technicians and SCADA Technicians.
• Analyze system parameters and performance for compliance.
• Lead network system improvement projects.
• Liaise with commercial units and customers as needed.
• Develop, implement and review distribution operation procedures and safety rules.
• Ensure safe working practices and safety rule compliance.
• Prepare for standby duties and participate in safety audits.
• Perform other duties as required.

Electrical Engineering degree

Professional Engineer (PE) with Practicing Certificate

132kV Competent Engineer certificate
