Job summary

Johor Plantations Group Berhad is seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to operate, monitor and maintain electrical installations across LV, MV, and HV networks. The role requires a valid Chargeman Competency from the Energy Commission, 2–5 years’ experience in power plants or heavy industry, and the ability to work rotating shifts.

You will perform inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and switchgear operations to ensure safe and reliable power distribution.

Qualifications

• Minimum educational qualification: Certificate/SKM, Diploma or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Valid Chargeman Certificate of Competency issued by Energy Commission (ST) is required, preferably A4/BO/B4.
• Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in power plants, utilities, or heavy industry; fresh competency holders may apply for junior roles.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, inspect and maintain electrical installations, switchgear, transformers, generators, motors, MCCs and protection systems.
• Perform routine inspections, preventive and corrective maintenance on LV, MV and HV systems.
• Carry out switching operations, isolation, energisation and PTW procedures per safety rules.
• Coordinate with Operations and Maintenance during shutdowns and turnarounds.
• Ensure compliance with statutory inspections, records, SOPs and Energy Commission regulations.
• Supervise contractors and ensure work quality and safety compliance.
• Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement for plant reliability.
