The role would require Human Resource (HR) to provide strategic direction on in-house HR function and also collaborate with the business partners / stakeholders in delivering real time business requirements such as recruitment, resourcing, payroll, training, reviewing compensation and supporting the Group’s expansion programme.
You will serves as the deputy to the HR & Administration Manager, overseeing daily HR and administrative operations, supporting strategic initiatives, and representing the department in meetings, briefings, and management discussions in the Manager's absence.
Some of the essential expectations of this role are:
- Oversee and coordinate recruitment activities, including manpower planning, sourcing, interviewing, selection, onboarding, and employee confirmation processes.
- Develop, review, and update job descriptions to ensure alignment with business objectives, organizational structure, and workforce requirements.
- Assist in HR budgeting and cost control initiatives, particularly in relation to manpower planning and workforce requirements.
- Oversee payroll administration to ensure accurate and timely processing in compliance with statutory and company requirements.
- Manage employee lifecycle activities, including transfers, promotions, disciplinary matters, resignations, and exit processes.
- Support performance management, employee engagement, training, and development initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies, and HR best practices.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve HR Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and consistency.
- Prepare HR reports, workforce analytics, and management updates.
- Provide guidance to employees and line managers on HR-related matters.
- Supervise and support HR team members to ensure efficient HR service delivery.
- Act as deputy to the HR Manager and oversee HR operations during the Manager's absence
- Represent the HR Department at meetings, briefings, and cross-functional discussions on behalf of the HR Manager when required.
Requirements:
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Studies / Administration / Management or its equivalent. Certification in HR studies with professional bodies would be advantageous, ie. SHRM, CIPD.
- Possess a minimum of 5-7 year(s) working experience preferably in retail industry/or a relevant sector.
- Has past experience managing a team
- Fluent in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese as this role also required to deal with Chinese stakeholder.
