Job summary

Evyap Malaysia is seeking a Safety & Health Officer to lead HSE initiatives across our manufacturing operations. You will implement policies, ensure DOSH/DOE compliance, and conduct risk assessments and audits to prevent incidents.

Ideal candidates have a DOSH SHO Green Book and at least 5 years of manufacturing experience, with strong communication and investigative skills to drive continual safety improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or related field.
• DOSH/JKKP SHO registration with Green Book.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Safety & Health Officer in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of Malaysian safety legislation and best practices.
• Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, and incident investigation skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and practices in compliance with company requirements and applicable legal regulations.
• Ensure compliance with DOSH, DOE, and other regulatory authorities.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop, review, and implement HIRARC, JSA, PTW, and other safety-related documentation.
• Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend preventive measures.
• Monitor compliance with ISO 45001 requirements and support OHS management system improvements.
• Conduct safety inductions and HSE awareness training for employees and contractors.
• Maintain HSE records, prepare reports, and submit statutory documentation.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, drills, and evacuations.
• Liaise with internal departments, contractors, and authorities on HSE matters.
• Promote a strong safety culture and safe working practices.

Main Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and practices in compliance with company requirements and applicable legal regulations.
• Ensure compliance with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), Department of Environment (DOE), and other relevant regulatory authorities.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop, review, and implement HIRARC, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Permit to Work (PTW), and other safety-related documentation.
• Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend preventive and corrective measures.
• Monitor compliance with ISO 45001 requirements and support the implementation and continual improvement of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
• Conduct safety inductions, and HSE awareness training for employees and contractors.
• Maintain HSE records, prepare reports, and ensure timely submission of statutory documentation.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including emergency response drills and evacuation exercises.
• Liaise with internal departments, contractors, and regulatory authorities on HSE-related matters.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure employees comply with established safety procedures and safe working practices.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or a related field, or a professional certificate recognized by DOSH.
• Registered with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH/JKKP) as a Safety and Health Officer (SHO), with valid Green Book certification.
• Minimum 5 years of working experience as a Safety & Health Officer, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
• Good knowledge of Malaysian occupational safety and health legislation, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, and incident investigation skills.
