Job summary

Talent Trader Group Pte Ltd in Malaysia is seeking an experienced EHS professional to develop and implement safety and environmental policies across manufacturing operations. You will monitor practices in metal fabrication, process systems, and electrical assembly, ensuring compliance with machine guarding, LOTO, chemical handling, and PPE requirements.

The role requires a DOSH Green Book or equivalent, 5+ years of EHS experience, and strong knowledge of local regulations (OSHA, FMA, DOE).

Qualifications

• Registered Safety & Health Officer (DOSH Green Book) preferred.
• Minimum 5 years EHS experience in manufacturing or metal fabrication environments.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, FMA and DOE requirements.
• Familiarity with HIRARC, JSA, incident investigation and audit procedures.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Monitor safety practices across sheet metal fabrication, stamping, CNC machining, welding, painting, and electrical cabinet assembly.
• Ensure compliance with machine guarding, LOTO, chemical handling, and PPE requirements.
• Review safety requirements for new processes, R&D trials, and product assembly.
• Manage waste segregation, scheduled waste handling, and disposal per DOE.
• Monitor environmental aspects such as noise, dust, fumes, and effluent where applicable.
• Coordinate environmental reporting and licence renewals.
• Investigate accidents, near-misses, and illnesses; prepare incident reports and root-cause analyses.
• Coordinate emergency response plans, fire drills, and evacuation exercises.
• Liaise with authorities during inspections and investigations.
• Conduct EHS inductions and safety training for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Promote safety awareness through toolbox talks and campaigns.
• Support Safety and Health Committee meetings and activities.
• Maintain EHS records, permits, licences, MSDS, and statutory documentation.
• Prepare monthly EHS reports and monitor KPIs; support management reviews.
• Support ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 implementation and audits.

Job description

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Registration as a Safety and Health Officer with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), commonly known as the Green Book, or an equivalent certification is preferred.

Minimum 5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing, metal fabrication, machining, or electrical assembly environments.

Strong knowledge of Malaysian EHS legislation and regulatory requirements, including OSHA, FMA, and DOE requirements.

Familiarity with HIRARC, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), incident investigation, and audit procedures.

Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Production, Engineering, and Management teams.

Experience in precision metal manufacturing or electrical cabinet assembly is an advantage.

Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
