Job summary

Senai, Johor-based client in IT infrastructure manufacturing seeks an experienced Safety and Health Officer to lead HSE initiatives and ensure compliance with Malaysian laws.

You will develop, implement, and monitor policies, risk assessments, and workplace safety programmes, conduct audits and investigations, and drive environmental management and training across the site. DOSH Green Book SHO registration is essential, preferably with EMS experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid DOSH Green Book registration as a Safety and Health Officer (SHO).
• Experience in HSE within manufacturing; EMS industry preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian OHS legislation and environmental regulations.
• Experience in HSE audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and management systems.

• Lead and oversee HSE activities to ensure regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) activities to ensure compliance with applicable Malaysian laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, risk assessments, and workplace safety programmes.
• Ensure compliance with relevant environmental requirements, occupational safety and health regulations, and internal management systems.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections, safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively.
• Monitor environmental management practices, including waste management, pollution prevention, and environmental compliance.
• Provide HSE training, guidance, and awareness programmes to employees and management to promote a strong safety culture.
• Liaise with relevant government authorities, external auditors, and other stakeholders on HSE-related matters.
• Prepare and maintain HSE documentation, reports, and records, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workplace safety and environmental performance.

Job Requirements

• The candidate required to possess a valid DOSH Green Book registration as a Safety and Health Officer (SHO)
• Proven experience of relevant HSE experience withinmanufacturing environment; highly preferable if within EMS Industry
• Good knowledge of Malaysian occupational safety and health legislation, environmental regulations, and applicable compliance requirements.
• Experience in HSE audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and implementation of safety and environmental management systems.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

Salary Range: Up to RM12k (AM) / Up to RM14k (M)
