Maverick Education in Selangor, Malaysia, seeks an HR Operations & Employee Engagement Officer to support onboarding, training, and engagement across campuses. You will interact with staff at multiple levels and manage permit-related tasks with precision.
The role requires travel between school campuses, coordinating permit matters and delivering engaging HR initiatives while supporting learning and development programs.
We are looking for a confident, proactive and people-oriented candidate to join our Human Resources team. This role is suitable for an individual who enjoys interacting with employees, coordinating training and engagement activities, and handling HR administrative and permit-related matters.
The successful candidate must be comfortable communicating with employees at different levels and willing to travel between school campuses and relevant government/permit offices when required.
Key Responsibilities:
Arrange and coordinate the end-to-end onboarding process for new employees.
Conduct onboarding and orientation sessions for new joiners.
Ensure all required onboarding documentation and processes are completed accurately and on time.
Handle and coordinate teaching permit applications, renewals and related documentation for school educators.
Travel to relevant government offices or other locations for permit-related matters when required.
Plan, coordinate and conduct monthly employee engagement activities and games for staff.
Develop creative activities to encourage staff participation, teamwork and engagement.
Support other employee engagement programmes, celebrations and HR initiatives.
Handle the end-to-end training and development process.
Coordinate and conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA).
Prepare and maintain the annual training plan and training calendar.
Coordinate internal and external training programmes.
Conduct internal training sessions for employees when required.

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Management or a related field.
1–2 years of relevant working experience in Human Resources, Training & Development, Employee Engagement or a related HR function.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Canva.
Confident, proactive and outspoken with good interpersonal and presentation skills.
Willing to perform ad hoc HR duties when required.
Must be willing to travel between school campuses, government offices and other locations for teaching permit and HR-related matters.
Possession of own transport and a valid driving licence is preferred.
Good command of written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
