The Oriental Group is seeking an HR professional in Malaysia to manage payroll, employee records, and statutory compliance. You will handle end-to-end payroll, maintain documentation, and support recruitment and onboarding across multi-outlet operations.
The role requires strong knowledge of Malaysian labour laws, experience with foreign worker administration, and proficiency in HRIS/payroll systems. Mandarin/English fluency is preferred for operational communication.

Execute full-cycle payroll processing with accuracy and timeliness, including overtime, allowances, and deductions.
Ensure compliance with all statutory contributions and submissions (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB).
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Malaysian labour regulations and ensure organisational compliance.
Prepare and administer employment documentation, including offer letters, confirmations, promotions, transfers, terminations, and contract renewals.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in HR systems and physical files.
Ensure proper documentation and audit readiness at all times.
Support end-to-end recruitment processes, including sourcing, screening, coordination, and onboarding.
Assist in manpower planning in alignment with operational requirements, including shift-based workforce needs.
Manage documentation and compliance for hiring, including foreign workers.
Oversee all matters related to foreign workers, including work permits, visa applications, renewals, and regulatory compliance.
Liaise with government agencies and external vendors on immigration and licensing matters.
Ensure adherence to all statutory and regulatory requirements.
Act as a point of contact for employee queries on HR policies, payroll, and benefits.
Support employee engagement and welfare initiatives.
Handle employee relations matters in accordance with company policies and labour laws.
Ensure employee accommodation complies with the Workers’ Minimum Standards of Housing and Amenities Act (Act 446).
Conduct periodic checks and maintain proper documentation for compliance.
Coordinate and administer training programs in line with organisational needs.
Ensure compliance with HRD Corp (HRDF) requirements, claims, and submissions.
Support development of structured training and leadership programs.
Maintain and optimise HRIS for data accuracy and reporting.
Generate regular HR reports (headcount, turnover, payroll summaries, etc.).
Support data-driven decision-making within HR and operations.
Support ad-hoc HR initiatives, projects, and assignments as required by management.
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related discipline.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, with strong exposure to payroll and statutory compliance.
Solid understanding of Malaysian labour laws, including the Employment Act 1955, Industrial Relations Act 1967, and Act 446.
Proven experience handling foreign worker administration is highly preferred.
Prior experience in F&B, retail, or other labour-intensive, multi-outlet environments is strongly preferred.
Proficient in HRIS and payroll systems.
Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
Good interpersonal and communication skills; able to engage with employees across all levels.
Proficiency in English and Mandarin/Cantonese to support operational communication needs.
