Private Advertiser is seeking a Senior HR Executive / Assistant HR Manager to lead daily HR operations and support strategic initiatives in Malaysia. The Senior HR Executive / Assistant HR Manager is responsible for managing daily HR operations, supporting strategic HR initiatives, and ensuring compliance with employment laws, ISO standards, and internal governance. The role covers key HR functions including industrial relations (IR), recruitment, training & development, payroll inputs, manpower planning, and providing plant-wide HR advisory support. This role plays a crucial part in human capital and talent management, ensuring the development, retention, and engagement of employees across all levels. It also champions mental health and wellbeing initiatives, promoting a supportive and psychologically safe workplace aligned with the organisation's wellbeing strategy. The role further contributes to safety and sustainability, reinforcing the company's HSSE culture, and ensuring that HR practices support long-term organisational resilience, responsible employment practices, and a compliant, healthy, and productive workforce.
Actively promote and model a strong HSSE culture across all workforce levels, ensuring that safety expectations are clearly communicated and consistently upheld
Partner with Safety & Wellbeing teams to implement safety initiatives, conduct safety briefings, and support risk assessments related to workforce practices, behaviour, and workplace ergonomics
Ensure HR policies, disciplinary actions, and training programs reinforce compliance with ISO 45001, OSHA-related requirements, and all internal safety procedures
Participate in incident investigations involving people-related factors and ensure accurate documentation and corrective action follow-up
Champion responsible labour practices consistent with ISO 14001, ensuring that HR processes follow ethical, fair, and environmentally responsible standards
Develop and implement the annual Training & Development Plan aligned with operational needs, ISO requirements, and future manpower capability needs
Maintain and update the Training Matrix, ensuring that employee competencies are recorded, tracked, and audited in line with ISO9001 & ISO45001 expectations
Implement talent development initiatives such as career progression planning, competency development pathways, and readiness assessment for key roles
Lead and champion mental health programmes including stress-management and Employee Assistant Program initiatives awareness campaigns
Ensure full compliance with the Employment Act 1955, Industrial Relations Act, and all relevant labour regulations
Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards
Understanding of Employment Act 1955, Industrial Relations Act, and labour regulations
Experience with training matrix development and competency tracking
Experience in talent development, succession planning, and career progression planning
Knowledge of mental health and wellbeing programme implementation
Experience in compensation and benefits strategy, payroll validation, and salary review exercises
Ability to conduct workforce analytics and produce HR reports on turnover, absenteeism, and disciplinary trends
Experience in disciplinary processes, domestic inquiries, and employee relations management
Ability to work collaboratively with Production, Maintenance, Safety, and Quality departments
Strong communication and coaching skills for supervisors and line managers
