Job summary

The Kuala Lumpur Journal is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee daily operations of room attendants and the housekeeping team in a busy hotel. You will ensure all guest rooms and public areas meet our standards before occupancy and coordinate schedules across shifts.

You will conduct inspections, drive high cleanliness, train staff, and collaborate with Front Office and Engineering to maintain smooth hotel operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in housekeeping operations, preferably in a hotel environment.
• Previous supervisory experience in housekeeping is preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Good problem-solving and guest service skills.
• Knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning methods, and safety practices.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications and hotel management systems is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of room attendants and housekeeping team.
• Ensure rooms and areas are cleaned to hotel standards before occupancy.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, corridors, public areas and facilities.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards to maximize guest satisfaction and minimize complaints.
• Allocate rooms and daily assignments to housekeeping staff for efficient workflow.
• Train, coach and mentor housekeeping employees.
• Conduct daily briefings and team meetings.
• Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Prepare and manage staff duty rosters and schedules.
• Coordinate with Front Office and Engineering to resolve maintenance issues.
