Job summary

Kenny Hills Hospitality Group is seeking a skilled cook/line cook for our Putrajaya kitchen in Malaysia. You will prepare ingredients, cook menu items in coordination with the kitchen team, and ensure dishes are presented promptly and to high quality standards.

Ideal candidates will have formal culinary training, strong knowledge of cooking methods, and a hunger to continuously improve culinary skills while maintaining a professional demeanor with colleagues and guests.

Qualifications

• Proven cooking experience including line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook.
• Excellent understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
• Accuracy and speed in executing tasks.
• Familiar with industry’s best practices.
• Culinary school diploma.
• Hunger to learn and improve culinary skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies.
• Prepare food for service by chopping vegetables, butchering meat or preparing sauces.
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
• Follow executive or sous chef’s instructions.
• Clean up station and handle leftovers.
• Ensure food comes out high quality, timely and at the right temperature.
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.

Responsibilities

• Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
• Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
• Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
• Clean up station and take care of leftover food
• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
