Job summary

Cagamas is seeking an experienced financial reporting and control professional to lead its Reporting & Taxation function and team. Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a key leadership role within Cagamas' Finance Division.

The position performs the principal Financial Controller role for the Group, ensuring integrity of accounting records, financial reporting and related controls. You will lead the Reporting & Taxation team, oversee audits, and drive improvements across systems and processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and professional qualification.
• Strong experience in financial reporting and controls with MFRS exposure.
• Big Four experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial control, close, and statutory reporting for the Group.
• Oversee technical and product accounting, including treasury accounting.
• Manage external audits and annual/interim reviews.
• Oversee taxation, capital adequacy, and regulatory reporting.
• Drive improvements in accounting systems, processes and controls.
• Lead and develop the Reporting & Taxation team and advise CFO.
• Undertake special projects and additional responsibilities as required.

Job description

Cagamas is seeking an experienced financial reporting and control professional to lead its Reporting & Taxation function and team. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this is a key leadership role within Cagamas' Finance Division. The position performs the principal Financial Controller role for Cagamas Group, with responsibility for the integrity of the Group's accounting records, financial reporting and related financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial control, financial close and statutory reporting across the Group.
• Lead technical and product accounting, including Treasury accounting and advisory.
• Manage the relationship with external auditors and coordinate the annual audit and interim limited review processes.
• Oversee taxation, capital adequacy and regulatory reporting within the function's responsibilities.
• Drive improvements in accounting systems, processes and financial controls.
• Lead and develop the Reporting & Taxation team and provide clear and practical advice to the CFO and relevant stakeholders.
• Undertake special projects and other responsibilities as required.

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent relevant discipline.
• Recognised professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ICAEW, CPA (Aus), CA ANZ, MICPA or equivalent.
• At least 10 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 3 years of managerial experience.
• Strong experience in financial reporting, financial control and/or technical accounting, with strong practical knowledge of MFRS.
• Relevant financial services experience and prior experience in a Big Four accounting firm are strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical judgement and problem-solving ability, with strong leadership and stakeholder management capability.
• Exceptional candidates with slightly less than 10 years of experience may also be considered where they demonstrate the requisite managerial experience, capability and readiness to step into a broader Financial Controller role.
