Job summary

RAPSYS TECHNOLOGIES PTE LTD seeks an experienced Chief Financial Officer to lead financial operations and craft strategies aligned to growth goals. The role requires strong leadership, Mandarin-capable communication, and deep knowledge of MFRS, Bursa Malaysia rules, and corporate governance.

Ideal candidates will have a PLC/MNC background, at least 10 years in senior finance roles, and a track record in treasury, M&A, and internal controls, with English and Bahasa Malaysia fluency and Mandarin

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting/Business or a professional accounting qualification such as MICPA, ACCA, CIMA, or ICAEW.
• Must be a registered member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).
• Experience as CFO or Deputy CFO in PLC/MNC environments is highly preferred.
• Big 4 audit background is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Group's financial strategy, planning, budgeting, projections, and policy development.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with Companies Act, Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements, MFRS, and tax laws.
• Direct financial systems, policies, and internal controls to support strong commercial management.
• Partner with Audit Committee and liaise with Company Secretaries, auditors, tax agents, banks, and regulators.
• Monitor treasury, cash management, banking facilities, FX exposure, and working capital optimization.
• Lead financial reviews and planning for new projects and investments; drive due diligence and M&A activity.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial operations and drive sustainable growth. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in finance, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to develop financial strategies that align with our business goals.

Principal Accountabilities & Areas of Responsibility

• Strategic Financial Leadership: Oversee the Group's financial strategy, financial planning, budgetary control, financial projections, and policy development.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure total compliance with regulatory requirements, including the Companies Act, Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements, MFRS, and tax legislation.
• Systems & Internal Controls: Direct and implement financial and accounting systems, policies, and procedures that support sound internal controls and strong commercial management.
• Corporate Governance & Audits: Partner with the Audit Committee regarding quarterly announcements and control/compliance matters. Act as the primary liaison for Company Secretaries, Internal/External Auditors, Tax Agents, Bankers, and Government bodies.
• Treasury & Capital Management: Monitor and review cash and banking management, banking facilities, foreign exchange exposure, and working capital optimization.
• M&A and Investments: Undertake financial review and planning for new projects and investments. Serve as the project lead for due diligence exercises, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and corporate restructuring.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education & Professional Certifications

• Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting/Business OR a professional Accounting qualification such as MICPA, ACCA, CIMA, or ICAEW.
• Must be a registered member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).

Experience Background

• PLC/MNC Track Record: At least 10 years of experience in a large Public Listed Company (PLC) or Multinational Corporation (MNC).
• Seniority: Minimum of 5 years holding a senior finance position. Prior experience acting as a Chief Financial Officer or Deputy Chief Financial Officer within a PLC environment is highly preferred.
• Audit Foundation: A background or foundational experience in a Big 4 accounting firm is considered a strong advantage.

Language Proficiency (Mandarin Mandatory)

• Complete fluency in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Mandarin/Chinese Literacy: Must have strong Mandarin speaking, reading, and writing capabilities to communicate effectively with regional business units and stakeholders.

Core Competencies

• Thoroughly familiar with Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements, Securities Commission Rules & Regulations, and the Companies Act.
