Head of Sales

What the day will look like
- Responsible and accountable for achieving the ‘new/new’ sales target and the ‘expanded services to existing clients’ target for Aon Risk Services (CRAH) Malaysia.
- Implement the annual sales strategy in alignment with regional and global sales processes, engaging direct reports and colleagues across the business to foster a sales-driven culture in CRAH Malaysia.
- Produce, engage, and manage key prospect relationships to deliver sales, and collaborate with the wider CRAH business to drive and implement a penetration strategy for existing clients.
- Ensure consistent application of the Aon sales process, including accurate pipeline management, monthly forecasting, and all required sales activity reporting for the region.
- Lead and own the sales process for key tenders, engaging with the wider Aon network to leverage expertise and develop RFP content and value propositions, while ensuring adherence to Aon’s quality and branding standards.
- Lead and chair all sales meetings, including activities related to annual business planning, quarterly reviews, and other strategic sessions.
- Manage, coach, and mentor the sales team in CRAH Malaysia to drive performance and financial results, including supporting sales champions within the matrix structure to advance the growth agenda.
- Continue building the country’s sales and marketing structure.
- Ensure all KPIs and scorecards are in place for team members, and provide coaching and mentoring to help them achieve their objectives.
- Implement robust performance management and training processes, ensuring timely execution of actions arising from these processes.
- Apply regional best practices in sales, campaigns, and marketing procedures, including monthly monitoring of Return on Investment for campaigns and marketing activities.
- Respond positively and constructively to recommendations from Compliance and Senior Management, and actively identify and share best practices across teams.
- Contribute to CRAH Malaysia initiatives as required, offering constructive challenge and supporting agreed implementations.
- Perform other duties and tasks as reasonably assigned by your supervisor.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Degree-qualified or equivalent industry experience with a minimum of 10 years.
- Proven relationships with C-Level executives and Risk/Insurance management, or the ability to establish and maintain these relationships.
- Strong oral and written communication, with confident presentation capabilities.
- Skilled in consultative selling, advising, influencing, and negotiation.
- Understanding of marketing strategy and best practices.
- Solid insurance knowledge across core lines of business.
- Deep understanding of the insurance landscape in Malaysia and across Asia.
- Ability to lead, manage, motivate, and coach direct reports in alignment with the Aon Leadership Model.
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory and statutory frameworks.
- Competent in using industry-standard IT systems to support efficient sales delivery.
