Job summary

TEKMARK SDN BHD is seeking a hands-on leader to guide our purchasing and logistics team and keep daily operations running smoothly.

You will collaborate across departments, strengthen supplier relationships, and turn ideas into practical improvements in cost, quality and delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
• 7–10 years of experience in purchasing and logistics.
• 3–5 years in a leadership role.
• Hands-on experience in supplier sourcing and PO processing.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP for PO, goods receipts, and inventory reporting.
• Strong negotiation and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with goals and budget.
• Source and evaluate suppliers, compare quotations, negotiate terms and quality.
• Lead purchasing activities including purchase orders, deliveries, contracts and policy compliance.
• Review market trends to identify savings opportunities.
• Oversee shipments, warehousing and distribution.
• Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders and customs to resolve delays and discrepancies.
• Monitor stock levels and inventory records; perform stock counts and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and documentation.
• Align purchasing with demand with Sales, Operations and Production.
• Improve delivery lead times and reduce transport costs.
• Coach and develop the team; set goals and KPIs; review performance.

You’ll work closely with teams across the business, strengthen supplier relationships and turn your ideas into practical improvements in cost, quality and delivery.

What You’ll Do

Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company goals and budget requirements.

Source and evaluate suppliers, compare quotations, and negotiate pricing, terms and quality.

Lead and actively handle purchasing activities, including purchase orders, delivery follow-ups, contracts and policy compliance.

Review market trends and costs to identify savings opportunities.

Oversee incoming and outgoing shipments, warehousing and distribution.

Take ownership of critical shipments and work with suppliers, freight forwarders and customs agents to resolve delays, clearance issues and delivery discrepancies.

Monitor stock levels, check inventory records, coordinate stock counts and resolve discrepancies, including slow‑moving or excess stock.

Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, customs, and trade documentation (if applicable).

Work with Sales, Operations and Production to align purchasing and deliveries with demand.

Improve delivery lead times and reduce transport costs.

Coach and support the team, set clear goals and KPIs, and review performance and training needs.

Strengthen departmental policies, procedures and workflows.

Step in to handle urgent matters and provide operational support when needed.

Budget, Performance & Improvement

Manage the department’s budget and track spending against targets.

Monitor and report on cost savings, on-time delivery and inventory turnover.

Identify supply chain risks and put practical action plans in place.

Improve daily processes through automation and digital tools.

What You’ll Bring

A Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics or a related field. A Master’s Degree is an advantage.

7–10 years of relevant experience covering both purchasing and logistics, including 3–5 years in a leadership role.

Proven hands‑on experience in supplier sourcing, purchase order processing, shipment coordination, inventory control and resolving operational issues.

Practical experience using SAP or a similar ERP system for purchase orders, goods receipts, inventory tracking and reporting.

Strong negotiation, supplier management and problem‑solving skills.

The ability to guide a team, communicate clearly and work well across departments.

Knowledge of local and international trade, customs and logistics requirements.

Good Excel skills and the ability to use data to make practical decisions.
