Monroe Consulting Group, an executive recruitment firm, partners with a Consumer organisation to hire a Head of HR based in Malaysia. The role leads the HR strategy, governance and people initiatives to support growth and organisational effectiveness.

You will drive leadership capability, workforce planning, performance management and culture initiatives, building an effective HR team and partnering with senior leaders to align people processes with business goals.

Qualifications

  • 12-18 years HR experience in a strategic leadership role.
  • Current or previous Head HR / HR Director / Senior HRBP / HR Leader.
  • Strong experience building or transforming HR processes and governance.
  • Experience partnering with senior leadership and translating business needs into HR strategy.
  • Strong exposure to organisation design, workforce planning and performance management.
  • Solid understanding of Malaysian employment legislation and HR practices.

Monroe Consulting Group, an Executive Recruitment firm, is partnering with a Consumer organisation to hire a Head of HR. This opportunity is based in Malaysia.

Position Overview

The Head of HR will lead the development and execution of the Human Resources strategy, frameworks and governance to support business growth and organisational effectiveness. This role will drive leadership capability, workforce planning, performance management and culture initiatives that contribute directly to organisational success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the overall HR strategy for Malaysia, aligned with the company's business plans and growth objectives.
  • Build the HR function, framework and governance structure to support a rapidly scaling organisation.
  • Design and establish HR policies, processes, SOPs and guidelines across the complete employee life cycle.
  • Develop the appropriate organisation structure, manpower plan and workforce strategy in line with business expansion.
  • Establish a structured performance management framework, including KRAs, KPIs, goal setting, performance reviews and performance improvement processes.
  • Develop leadership development initiatives and strengthen the organisation's management capability.
  • Establish a structured career progression, promotion and internal mobility framework.
  • Partner with the leadership team on organisation design, restructuring and change management initiatives.
  • Develop a strategic talent acquisition framework covering leadership, managerial, sales, technical and support functions. Establish manpower planning and recruitment processes that can support rapid business expansion.
  • Create HR dashboards and people analytics/MIS to provide leadership with insights on headcount, attrition, hiring, performance and productivity.
  • Establish a strong HR governance framework covering policies, compliance, employee relations and people processes.
  • Ensure HR policies and processes are aligned with Malaysian employment laws and statutory requirements.
  • Build an effective HR team with clear roles, responsibilities, KPIs and operating processes.
  • Work closely with Business, Finance and Operations leaders to identify organisational and people challenges and develop solutions.
  • Drive the adoption of HR technology / HRMS and digitise key HR processes wherever appropriate.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Country Head and senior leadership team on organisation, people and culture matters.
Key Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
  • 12-18 years of HR experience, with significant experience in a strategic HR leadership role.
  • Current or previous experience as Head HR / HR Director / Senior HRBP / HR Leader.
  • Strong experience in building, setting up or transforming HR processes and frameworks.
  • Experience working with senior leadership and translating business requirements into HR strategy.
  • Strong exposure to organisation design, workforce planning and performance management.
  • Experience establishing HR policies, SOPs, processes and governance frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of Malaysian employment legislation and HR practices.
  • Experience in a growing, scaling or transformation-focused organisation is highly preferred.
  • Exposure to manufacturing, engineering, D2C, retail, service or other sales-driven businesses would be an advantage.
