Job summary

SYNBONE is seeking an experienced Head of Finance to lead our Malaysia finance function in Kulai. This hands-on leadership role within a lean manufacturing environment combines strategic finance with active involvement in reporting, costing, compliance, and business performance analysis.

You will develop high-performing teams, drive ERP and digital transformation, optimize costing methodologies, and partner with production and supply chain to improve profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, MIA or equivalent) preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of Finance & Accounting experience, including 3-5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, costing, taxation, transfer pricing, and Malaysian statutory requirements.
• Manufacturing costing expertise with standard costing, inventory valuation, variance analysis, and product profitability reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Finance and Accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting and statutory compliance.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial planning.
• Maintain manufacturing costing, inventory valuation, and business performance analysis.
• Partner with production, supply chain, and operations to improve efficiency and profitability.
• Strengthen internal controls, risk management, and financial governance.
• Lead audits, taxation, and regulatory compliance.
• Drive finance process improvements, ERP enhancement, automation, and digital transformation.
• Develop and lead a small Finance team while partnering with Management and other departments.

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Head of Finance to lead our Finance function in Malaysia and serve as a trusted business partner to Management. This is a hands-on leadership role within a lean manufacturing organization. The successful candidate will combine strategic financial leadership with active involvement in financial reporting, costing, compliance, process improvement, and business performance analysis.

• Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
